Israel was founded in 1948 on confiscated Palestinian land. Soon after Arabs lost their war to recover this land, resulting in thousands of deaths, a Palestinian Nakba, and the establishment of many refugee camps in the surrounding Arab nations.
Since 1948 Israel has been in 16 wars and other conflicts with its neighbors which has increased its size by 400% Since its founding the US government has given Israel 318 billion in today’’s dollars which has been used to buy arms and finance it’s wars.
Currently it appears Israel intends to annex parts of Lebanon, Syria, and all of Gaza and the West Bank. It’s policy of indiscriminate bombing and starving of the population is intended to drive out the Palestinian population from Gaza.
The policy of expansion of Israel by military means is detrimental to the long term existence of its state. Israel is surrounded by hostile Arab states with over 150 million irate inhabitants within marching distance of Israel. Even with all its jets, tanks, exploding pagers, and political assasinations, it is questionable whethera population of 7.2 million Jewish Israelis can cope with odds they wil face in the future.
The best methods Israel could take to ensure its survival is to stop its expansion policy, make nice with its Arab neighbors, and begin to treat the Palestinians fairly.
