If you were to encounter a drunken man about to start his car, and you had the ability to grab the key out of his hand, would you?

You should definitely NOT take the man’s key because that would be against the law! Instead, you should do the right thing, which is to let the pixelated daredevil drive off and possibly kill a few people.

Suppose you were walking home one afternoon, and you see that a small child has fallen into a neighbor’s swimming pool and is drowning. You ring your neighbor’s doorbell but no one is home. So, what should you do?

If you answered “I would run into the neighbor’s backyard to rescue the child”, you’re wrong because that would be trespassing; and it’s always wrong to break the law! Instead, you should mind your own business and let the kid drown.

You’re in a parking lot on a hot summer day, and you notice a baby inside of a parked car, who has already passed out from the heat. Should you break into the car to rescue the baby? OF COURSE NOT! Breaking into someone else’s car is against the law! The right thing to do is to leave the baby to die.

There are many examples of people who have changed the course of history as a result of violating laws that they found unjust. Of course, breaking the law is always wrong, and therefore all of those now-revered historical figures were wrong.

George Washington and his pals objected to the tyranny of the king who ruled over them. When all else failed, they ILLEGALLY declared independence, started a revolution, and formed a new nation. They were wrong for what they did because it was against the law. Instead of breaking the law, they all should have learned how to tolerate tyranny!

Harriet Tubman was wrong to break the law by helping slaves to escape. She had no right to interfere with other people’s legal right to own slaves.

Susan B. Anthony was wrong for trying to vote at a time when it was against the law for women to vote. Had Susan B. Anthony obeyed the law and stayed out of trouble, women may have never gotten the right to vote. Even so, it was still wrong for her to break the law. It’s always wrong to break the law.

It was against Hitler’s law for the people of Nazi Germany and Nazi-occupied Poland to help Jewish people hide from the Nazis. As wrong as Hitler’s laws were, it was never okay to break them, regardless of how many innocent lives were at stake. Two wrongs don’t make a right!

Rosa Parks was wrong for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man. It’s always wrong to disobey any law, including unjust and racist laws.

Recently, an anonymous hacker got into the computer system of Global X Airlines and prevented the airline from complying with the Trump administration’s unconstitutional deporting of people to a terrible prison in El Salvador. Those computer hackers were wrong to thwart our government’s atrocities because (say it with me now) it’s always wrong to break the law.

All laws should always be obeyed, no matter how immoral, unjust, or downright barbaric they may be. After all, if we all decided to only obey the laws that we like, society would be in chaos!

This essay is intended as a satire; and does not represent my actual viewpoint. If you found yourself in agreement with me, you’re an idiot.
