Renewable Friday: Does the Pope Love the World? [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

You can hear Opus Dei’s teeth grinding, but the newly-elected Pope Leo XIV is known to agree with his predecessor Pope Francis on the importance of Global Warming action. Check it out.

IPA Audible Gnashing of Teeth

Myself, I want to see solar panels on every Catholic church roof, and every other roof they have control of or influence over, in every country in the world. Pope Francis got it started, and it is becoming unstoppable.

That isn’t a Catholic church. This is.

OK, a new Pope (actual holy smokes!)

is a big deal, but the real big deal for us is the constant acceleration of the full range of anti-Global-Warming measures planned and (unlike those of the obstructionists) actually happening.

Enjoy.

x My boss knows best 💡: you can make "sincere connections across party lines because #solar just makes so much sense in so many communities" #solarisnonpartisan #energysky #solarenergy #solarpower #rooftopsolar

Yes, you can talk to some about saving the planet, or health, and others about $$Real Money$$TM.

CCCI uses carbon credits to help retire old coal plants. Then, it replaces them with renewable energy sources. This work helps cut greenhouse gas emissions while supporting economic growth and boosting public health in vulnerable communities.

x For 70+ years, the Line 5 pipeline has run through the Great Lakes, already spilling oil 33 times. Now, Enbridge wants to lock in another century of fossil fuel profits by drilling a tunnel under Lake Michigan. Urge Gov. Whitmer to reject the Line 5 tunnel project!

Stop Oil Line 5 from contaminating the Great Lakes. Today is the day of action. Dear Readers who live in the Great Lakes Watershed, Rashida Tlaib posted a great video about the situation here. That’s a link to Instagram; you may have to click the volume button. From Oil and Water Thank you for supporting the campaign to shut down Line 5. I want to call your attention to an upcoming digital day of action on Monday 5/5 to highlight what’s at stake if Enbridge builds the Line 5 tunnel. Our goal is to generate lots of social media content that day to send a strong Shut Down Line 5 and No Tunnel message. We have a toolkit with content ideas to share. ✂ No Tunnel Digital Toolkit The toolkit includes sample posts and accounts to tag in your posts. Please share posts that day and be on the lookout for other posts to share from us and our coalition partners on May 5th. For the Great Lakes,

Ross Fisher

There are no commercial SMRs, just experimental prototypes in Russia and China not ready for prime time. This is going to be a typical ultra-expensive, long-delayed nuclear boondoggle, a corrupt gift to a politically-favored industry.
