New Day Cafe: Waterfalls [1]

I’ve got a lot going on this week, so I will dig into my vault and find some waterfall pictures. On Bluesky they have Waterfall Wednesdays. Well, forgive my lack of alliteration, but today is Waterfall Thursday!
The base of Latourell Falls
Multnomah Falls is the largest and most famous falls in the Gorge. I often passed it by because it’s so busy, and difficult to get pics without people in them. Sometimes it’s nice to have humans in the image for scale, but I tend to prefer unpeopled images.
Latourell Falls is probably my favorite. It has a huge drop, wildly colored lichens, and impressive basalt pillars. I used to remark to my Oregon friends that God must have been on drugs when he made that place. Fortunately for me, no lightning bolts were employed from above as an effort to smite me for my blasphemy.
Also in the Gorge. Forgive me for not remembering which falls it is. I only took this picture 20 years ago.
Here is the first digital picture that I ever took. Well, technically the second, because the first one didn’t come out. I had just bought the camera, and was on a trip with my brother and SIL. When we got to West Virginia, I had finally read enough of the owner’s manual to get started.

High Falls in central Georgia during flood stage
Part of Goose Creek Falls, near McCall, Idaho
I’ve been to Niagara Falls exactly once.
You’d think that I’d have some good waterfall pics from Norway. But when I was there three years ago, the mountainous regions were still frozen. This is about the best one I have.
Look closely at the left side of the picture. Enlarge.
I have many more waterfall pics in various folders, material for another day. Meanwhile, it’s your turn to join the discussion.
