Creative Destruction, Disaster Capitalism, and Gaza. [1]

Gaza in the headline is just clickbait. The concepts of Disaster Capitalism and Creative Destruction ring my bell this morning. More than 100 years ago these ideas arose from Veblen, and Schumpeter. Since then, over and over, notably by Naomi Klein, (The Shock Doctrine) and numerous others.

Creative destruction notes that inventions eliminate older technologies (buggy whips, scribes, typewriters).

Klein suggests (from Wikipedia) that

… political actors exploit the chaos of natural disasters, wars, and other crises … favor[ing] corporate interests ...

Gaza provides an easy example as depicted in the following from Jewish Voices for Peace:
