Apparently Gramsci said rather than, “The old world is dying, and the new world struggles to be born; now is the time of monsters.”, but instead: “The crisis consists precisely in the fact that the old is dying and the new cannot be born; in this interregnum a great variety of morbid symptoms appear” which to me feels far darker. The new not just struggling to be born but rather, that it is impossible for the new to emerge fills me with dread. The world of today does the same.
Of course Gramsci said this on the verge of what would become WW2 imprisoned in Fascist Italy, of which in jail he would slowly die. I hope we are not quite there.
India and Pakistan seem on the verge of all out war, unlike anything ever before in their history. A functioning administration, a functioning President would try and rally the international community to stop 2 nuclear powered states from fighting, and yet we have neither of those in this country. “Trump reacted to the strikes Tuesday evening in the U.S., saying in part: "It's a shame. We just heard about it as we were walking through the doors of the Oval."
He added of the two nuclear adversaries: "They've been fighting for a long time ... I just hope it ends very quickly.”
One wonders what would be a great shame for our president, who goes harder for election criminals on his Truth Social page than two nuclear powers in an undeclared war. One can barely wonder why he even bothers to respond, we all know Trump will do nothing, that’s all he ever does. Unless he can blame someone else. I'm sure within a few hours it will be Biden's fault that India and Pakistan are at war, or Hillary Clinton's fault, or the Martians' fault. This is our commander in chief and the leader of our nation's military, the leader of the free world, using the same words I would use to describe my dog eating my pillowcase. We have to push out this incompetent criminal as soon as humanly possible, we have to crush his do-nothing foreign policy, his wrecking of the world economy, his attack on the freedoms of this nation, and his arrogance that has no limit. Donald Trump in the oval office is just as much of a threat to this nation as a nuclear bomb in the hands of our enemies, the thing is though a nuclear bomb can only go off once, Trump will go off and on and off. We must rip out the power to the oval office, turn it into a golden cage until he can do nothing to harm our nation or the world again.
