"Four dead in Ohio" - what about three dead in Orangeburg? [1]

Until I heard a Black woman giving a righteous rant on TikTok, I didn’t know about this:
“The Orangeburg Massacre was a shooting of student protesters on February 8, 1968, on the campus of South Carolina State College in Orangeburg, South Carolina, United States. Nine highway patrolmen and one city police officer opened fire on a crowd of African American students, killing three and injuring twenty-eight. The shootings were the culmination of a series of protests against racial segregation at a local bowling alley, marking the first instance of police killing student protestors at an American university.” (Links included automatically when I copied and pasted this.)
We need to step up and support Black people, and we need to do it now. They’re fed up, and rightly so. Of course we need their votes, but even more, it breaks my heart to think that the party they have supported for decades seems to have forgotten about them.
Let’s agree right now that Black lives matter, and that building a movement that may well exclude them for the umpteenth time is bullshit.
Signed,
An old white woman
