The First Footprint: Why I’m the Only True Hometown Candidate in the Primary for House District 75. [1]

I took my first breath at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia—born right in the heart of the district I now seek to represent. My very first footprints were pressed into my birth certificate, a mark of life beginning right here in the community I still call home. And now, decades later, I’m ready to leave a new footprint—this time in Richmond, as your next Delegate for Virginia’s 75th District.
I am the only candidate on the ballot who was born in Hopewell. The only one whose journey didn’t start elsewhere and land here—but whose roots were planted deep in this soil from day one. I was raised in this district. I attended Chesterfield and Prince George County public schools. I now raise children of my own here—children who are also enrolled in our public school system.
This isn’t politics to me. It’s personal.
I’ve built my life around serving this community—as a nurse, as a mental health professional, and as a small business owner who hires locally and invests in our people. I’ve answered emergency calls, advocated for families in crisis, and stood up for those who often feel invisible.
And now, I’m standing up again—this time, to represent you in the General Assembly in Richmond.
From that first tiny footprint stamped on hospital records in Hopewell, to the larger steps I take now to fight for better healthcare, stronger schools, safer neighborhoods, and a more inclusive Virginia—I walk with the people of this district every single day.
