Protesting the Psychological Id of Donald Trump? [1]

To avoid being too esoteric about what Donald Trump is doing to America, the man known as the father of psychology, Sigmund Freud, may have forewarned us about people like President Trump. The example of what he arguably described as the inner nature of man, calling it the Id. The Id: This is the most primitive part of the psyche, representing our basic instincts, desires, and impulses. The Id operates on the pleasure principle, seeking immediate gratification and avoiding discomfort. Donald Trump has created normalcy from the pillars of Freud's theory of the Id, Ego, and Superego. His toxic mixture of self-aggrandizing arrogance, blissful ignorance, and authoritarian instincts is going to be the death of democracy as we know it, if we continue to passively sit by and wait for someone or something else to save us. Former President Obama gave us the clarion call during his campaign(s) when he said, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” For those who have forgotten, America was booming with optimism following Mr. Obama’s election. Some of it was warranted, some was wishful thinking, and other parts were just blind optimism from those who thought we were entering a post-racial era. Those times were replaced with the first iteration of Trump and his minions, who sought gratification without discomfort. Mr. Obama saved the economy from near disaster, brokered deals to neuter the building of nuclear weapons in Iran, and made the most significant advances to saving the planet’s environment, with the Paris Agreements, since Theodore Roosevelt declared National Parks and their resources vital to America.
Of course, Trump, whether out of racial animosity, retribution, or just plain spite, made moves to destroy the agreement with Iran and the United States' participation in the Paris Climate Agreement and acted on his obsession with destroying the Affordable Care Act. In a weird juxtaposition of facts, the estranged husband of his Secretary of Education, pro wrestling magnate Vince McMahon, has a similar superego problem with anything that is not his creation. The fact that McMahon and Trump are friends, allegedly sharing their inabilities to holster their egos and alleged sexual predator predilections, is not surprising. Trump’s circles of associates are filled with people of questionable morals, Jeffrey Epstein being a prime example.
What should set off the alarm bells for every person in America, Mr. Trump told NBC’s Kristen Welker, was that he did not know if he had to obey the Constitution.
Welker: …don’t you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?” Welker asked.
“I don’t know,” Trump replied.
Former Trump aide Alyssa Farrah Griffin admitted on The View TV program this morning that she would have led a group of Republicans with pitchforks and torches in a march on the White House had Obama or Biden uttered those words. Mr. Trump also suggested that the Constitutional right to due process may be too inconvenient, “… it might say that, but if you’re talking about that, then we’d have to have a million or 2 million or 3 million trials,” he said. “We have thousands of people that are — some murderers and some drug dealers and some of the worst people on Earth,” said Trump.
For those of you cheering on Trump’s ignoring of the Constitution as a common-sense remedy, remember we burned people at the stake for witchcraft because it was considered a common-sense remedy.
