It’s Wacky Weekend Clean-Up Time, again!
Greg Dworkin will be in to help jump-start things. So we’ll have to look to strike the right balance between the crazy-but-substantive, like the play-by-play dissections of the illegal rendition program, and the just-plain-crazy, like the “decision” to reopen Alcatraz.
Today’s countdown numbers:
149 days until the “legal” funding for what’s left of the US government runs out… again!
1,356 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
547 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
608 days—if we have those elections—until we seat a new Congress
Our new random country generator says, today’s an unlucky day for: Italy!
Well, I guess that’s pretty unlikely, even by our standards. Unless Trump suddenly “remembers” what Sidney Powell and Mike Flynn said Italy did in the 2020 election.
But I still think it’s a very long shot. And it’s actually because he’s just been there. And now that it’s behind him, the odds that he gives them another thought are pretty low!
