Federal judge orders NCSBE to certify lawful SCONC justice’s win [1]

This story continues to have more twists and turns than a Kafka novel. After the voter challenge sore loser Jefferson Griffin issued after final canvassing gave incumbent Democratic justice Allison Riggs the winning edge in last year’s judicial race, the case ping-ponged between state courts (where GOP dominated courts mostly ruled in favor of Griffin) and federal court (which ruled in favor of democracy).
Well today, federal court judge Richard Myers (appointed by Trump), ordered the NCSBE to certify the election results and not proceed with the cure process. However, Myers stayed his own ruling for a week to allow Griffin to appeal it. So while this is a welcome bit of news, Griffin will likely appeal this all the way to the United States Supreme Court. And even then he’s not guaranteed a win.
