Trump and Musk wrecking American prosperity - Putin is the winner [1]

President Trump and his First Pal, Mr. Musk have been using a wrecking ball on the underpinnings of American well being since day one of the Trump administration. They have taken it upon themselves to disrupt foreign trade with tariffs, penalizing our long term allies. They are dismantling the Social Security System which provides a substantial portion of the income for 70 million citizens. They are crippling agencies like the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) which safe guard the accumulated wealth of Americans. And, they are disabling apolitical, benign agencies that provide basic protection to all Americans, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican. These include Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), the National Institute of Health (NIH), and Center for Disease Control (CDC). What is the purpose of all this disruption of government functions which Democrats and Republicans have relied on for decades?
The cumulative effect of all this mayhem is the weakening of the American economy and increasing the risk of a national economic collapse stemming from financial shocks, epidemics, or natural disasters. Without the SEC and FDIC to protect financial assets, the failure of the Social Security system could start a cascade of events as the incomes of 70 million Social Security beneficiaries is put at risk. The 170 million working Americans, not yet retired, would not be immune from the downstream effects of such a disruption.
