Embedding YouTube shorts [1]

Earlier today I was trying to embed a YouTube short in a DailyKos story. This site handles YouTube videos easily—you can paste an “embed” link from YouTube and the video shows up in the story. If you need additional help, there is a short & simple guide.
Unfortunately, there is no such embed link that you can get for Shorts directly, but with a little work, you can get it done.
While viewing the Short video, copy the URL from the address bar, or click the Share button and copy the URL Go to this site, and paste in the URL of the Short The Aspect Ratio does not work on DailyKos, so don’t bother. You can play with the other options, or leave them alone Click the “Copy Code” button on the right half of the screen Come back to your story in DailyKos, and paste it.
And there you have it—the short video is now embedded in your story even though it has ugly borders (because DailyKos supports only one size for YouTube videos)
[I have no relationship with the embed code creation site and until today I didn’t know they existed. I searched for “youtube shorts embed code generator”. This site was the first result. You can search for the same thing and use any of the other sites. ]
