Friday! Time for more trouble!
Fridays are always a catch-up game, as well as a set-up for the weekend. Although the weekends have become wildly unpredictable.
Actually, that’s true of every day of the week, now.
Today’s countdown numbers:
152 days until the “legal” funding for what’s left of the US government runs out… again!
1,359 days remaining in Trump’s legal term of office
550 days until the midterm elections, if we have them
611 days—if we have those elections—until we seat a new Congress
Our new random country generator says, today’s an unlucky day for: Republic of the Congo.
Yes, it’s yet another invasion threat that could very possibly pan out in the next 24 hours. For some reason, Trump is convinced that the Congolese government is emptying its prisons into the United States. I’ve never actually seen anything that could plausibly serve as even the kernel of truth that gets distorted beyond all recognition, to then take the form of this particular story. But he keeps saying it!
And I guess as long as he does that, there’s a non-zero chance that he’ll also threaten to invade.
But let’s hope we get to the weekend without that happening.
