Beer discussion: Vinepair has an article this week remembering the super-high-strength beer competition of the early 2000s.
I saw this and said “I drank that beer (BrewDog “Tactical Nuclear Penguin”), and I wrote about it for FNBB!”

The beer pictured at top is at the other end of the spectrum. A recent Sierra Nevada sampler contained one new to me, “Hoppy Little Thing”, and the emphasis here is on the “Little”, only 5% abv. They don’t call it “session IPA”, but that’s what it is. In this style I might like All Day IPA better.
I finished the SN a couple days ago and today I started with another beer new to me, Lagunitas Chelada, the first version of this I’ve seen from a craft brewer. I liked it. The price for a 19.2oz can was about the same as a 24oz Bud Chelada, and at 6% abv it’s strong for that style.
Beer #2 is the always reliable Swami’s IPA from Pizza Port.
