About that sternly worded letter so many people are upset about.
I have yet to see someone link to it, although I could be wrong. I have yet to see someone mention that five Jewish Senators signed onto the letter, including Schumer. I have yet to see someone mention the very important issue raised by these Jewish Senators — the guise of fighting anti-semitism to attack Harvard and other universities and the rights of their students. An important message lost to the ridiculous mockery of Sen. Schumer.
Instead of informing ourselves about the dangerousness of how this administration is pretending to care about anti-semitism we’re laughing at one of our own members. We’re taking the bait to disrupt the party.

You don’t like that letter? Try reading one of these other ones.
I encourage you to read at least one of these letters to see the actual work that goes into writing them. There are citations and references that not only clarify the intent of the message but also provide a historical record of what’s happening. We all know that the administration has changed course on many things and tries to pretend it hasn’t. These letters can be proof of those actions.
As the minority party there is very little oversight that Democrats can do. Letter writing is one way they can do that regardless of whether they’re in the minority or the majority.

Good cooperation by this diverse group of public servants in sending this letter: x The Trump Administration’s treatment of Mahmoud Khalil is inhumane and unconstitutional. Today, I was proud to join NYS Assemblymember Valdez, NYC Council Member Avilés, and 27 city, state, and federal officials to call for his immediate release.

Letter from two Democratic members conducting oversight. x Yesterday, @fairplayforkids.bsky.social filed a devastating petition with serious allegations that Meta violated my Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). I’m calling on FTC to investigate.

It’s obvious that letter writing is happening by more than Sen. Schumer. Again, it’s part of the role of the legislative branch.
I encourage everyone to follow more Democrats on social media so you can see ALL that they’re doing and saying.
