100 Days of Hoaxes, um, Facts [1]

I missed this article at Whitehouse.gov totally with all the things Trump has been doing and saying.

It's called 100 Days of Hoaxes: Cutting Through the Fake News. Trump's crew thought it important enough to try and debunk facts that made Trump or people in his administration look asinine or just stupid.

What did they lead off with? Biden spending millions to turn mice transgender. They think they own the libs on this, when it was really about transgenic mice. That way we can test things on mice instead of humans. They think the retort was debunked and that the mice were transgender. They just saw trans, and leaped to a conclusion, but the landing spot was over the cliff. They just don't give up.

I don't have enough time, and you don't have enough patience for me to go through the 99 other ones they did. Maybe just the easiest ones.

They were upset that Eric Swalwell had said that there were more aviation accidents in Trump's first month in office than happened in decades. This was after they started messing with the air traffic controllers and the FAA. They count 55 aviation accidents in Biden's term in office, but what they fail to recognize is that a commercial plane had not been downed since 2009. And then we had that disaster over the Potomac. Small plane accidents are common. He was talking about commercial airlines. Big planes.

We know that DOGE is occupied by young computer hackers. Their retort was, "In reality, DOGE is led by seasoned industry professionals." Um, not in your wildest dreams.

I got angry when they decided to take on Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Their claim of fact was, "Abrego Garcia is a citizen of El Salvador and was deported to his home country amid overwhelming evidence of his gang affiliation." That's not just wrong, it's propaganda. There is absolutely no evidence of gang affiliation other than hearsay that has been taken as fact.

Just as bad was Mahmoud Khalil. "An immigration judge ruled Khalil, who is not a US citizen, can be deported." Obviously not. Khalil just got released from detention because of his case being about First Amendment rights.

They call the reports that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was anti-vaccine as being incorrect. So what just happened with the measles outbreak? What did he ever say about vaccines that was good?

Tara Palmeri reported that Trump's proposal for Gaza was created by Jared Kushner. They claim this is false, but do they not remember the Trump Gaza video? Jared Kushner had been talking about a resort on the Gaza coastline. He said that Gaza waterfront property could be very valuable.

They were upset that thousands of physicians were opposed to RFK Jr.'s possibly becoming the Secretary of Health and Human Services. "The advocacy group was really an astroturfed partisan organization funded by prominent left-wing donors, and accepted fake signatures." That's not true, of course, there were thousands of physicians who were opposed. And what the hell did they mean about astroturfed? Is this as opposed to a grassroots operation? So I looked it up. They're just blowing hot air because RFK Jr. is an idiot, and an extremely dangerous one at that.

There was that time when DOGE put up classified information on their website. They still claim it was commonly known information when it wasn't.

They split hairs about Kristie Noem calling all Venezuelan immigrants dirtbags. They proudly say that Noem actually said that illegal immigrants from Venezuela were dirtbags. Not much of a difference.

They say that Chuck Schumer lied when he said that Trump was going after Social Security. The Republicans are going after Social Security. DOGE is all over the place. They want to cancel everybody's Social Security and wait until somebody complains to get it back. I'd call that messing with Social Security.

Senator Mark Kelly said that care at VA hospitals would be impacted by layoffs. Secretary of VA Affairs Collins said that that wasn't true. Well, if the VA is laying off 80,000 people, where do you think it's going to be hitting?

They got upset at Senator Mazie Hirono saying that Pam Bondi had created a weaponizing task force. I would say that no one could not think that Pam Bondi is weaponizing the Justice Department. All the attacks on due process and birthright citizenship and the 225 Federal cases against them. Right. They're doing nothing wrong.

The CBS story about Hegseth creating a makeup studio was totally wrong according to them. It was already a pre-existing Green Room. That's where you do makeup. And he was making changes to it, making it more like Fox News. Didn't disprove that one very well.

They try to disprove the story that Steve Witkoff had a phone in Moscow and was part of the group chat that was happening between Hegseth and all the other people in SignalGate. The timing proves it. Their proof is that it was a government phone, not a personal phone. It doesn't make much God damn difference if he was using it while he was sitting right next to Putin.

They weren't done with Kilmar. They say that the Supreme Court did not order him to be returned to the United States. Their claim is that the Supreme Court didn't say "bring him back to the United States." Only they could read the order and not think it meant that. Contempt of court, anyone?

They were upset that Representative Ro Khanna said that the arrest of the judge in Milwaukee who helped an immigrant was unprecedented. Their counterclaim is, oh, it's happened before. It did happen in 2019 on Trump's watch. Just because it's happened before doesn't justify it. Then there's two other people, Senator Tammy Baldwin and Senator Amy Klobuchar who were also upset about the arrest. Tammy called it a drastic move and Amy said it threatened the rule of law. Trump crew's responses were, of course, lame.

They claim that a political story about Trump wiping out firefighter safety and health programs were false. Multiple news services show that their claim is false. The programs have been cut way back. A simple denial is not much of a response or criticism. The facts are that there were cutbacks.

When Senator Elizabeth Warren said that with Trump's actions, nobody would want to invest in the United States, they responded with Trump's claim that five trillion dollars was already being invested in the United States. Sure, in 5 years, maybe. Those are plans, not done deals. With the current environment, no business would have any reason to build in America. It's too damn expensive and has no return on investment.

Kristen Welker highlighted the fact that immigrant citizen children were being deported. Their retort was that the mothers were illegal so it was okay to deport the children with them. I believe that type of thinking is called sophistry?

They split hairs about the New York Times story that Donald Trump was the only one wearing a blue suit at the Pope's funeral. I looked at many pictures. Everyone else in sight was wearing black. He stood out like a sore thumb. Not a black suit, not a black tie, not a black lapel pin. That's what the dress code everybody knew was.

Teachers union Randi Weingarten accused Trump of taking teacher salaries and giving them to billionaires. Their claim was that states and local municipalities pay teachers' salaries. But the government provides K-12 funds, another dodgeball tactic. By disbanding the Department of Education and the funds that they provide they are taking away teacher salaries to give to billionaires.

PBS was criticized for saying that DOGE was attempting to gain access to secure spaces. They said that this implied that they were trying to get classified information. But that's not what the story said. DOGE was bypassing security measures in order to get to sensitive information everywhere they went especially personnel files. Not much of a retort.

There were a lot of their claimed hoaxes that were going to be a lot of work to refute and unimportant anyway. The point is they had to trot out these 100 lies for 100 disasterous days to keep Donald happy.

Those of us with brains know that this has been the worst 100 days of our lives. Hell, the Covid pandemic was bad, but this all was avoidable. Donald Trump is a disease.

TDS. Trump Devotion Syndrome. They drink the Kool-Aid. We never will.
