What is the purpose of a country's government? [1]

From my perspective, the following is the purpose of any country’s government.

There are 3 major reasons for the creation of a country’s government. These criteria in order of importance are:

The protection of the country’s citizens from malicious actors. This includes: Nation states Terrorists – Both foreign and domestic The protection of the country’s citizen’s rights. This includes: Privacy Health Happiness Economic wellbeing The protection of the country’s territory. This includes: Land Air Water

These 3 items make up the majority of reasons for the creation of a country’s government.

While it is nice to have other reasons as well, they are not really pertinent for the creation of a government. When the government fails to attend to any one of these 3 criteria, it becomes a failed government.

For businesses created within the country please note: The government of a country should have no involvement in protecting any business in any form from its people. In fact, government should be protecting its people from any businesses that are predatory.

All businesses should be required to create a business charter listing the reason for the business, its organizational practices, and the method of dissolution should it fail to uphold anything listed in that business charter. This business charter should not be amendable and any and all organizations should have one (including political parties, unions, non-government organizations, etc.) to which the people can hold them to account.
