Two new impeachments on Trump's horizon [1]

There were two that had Trump impeached by the House, but not convicted by the Senate. Trump will always say he was exonerated, but it's nothing of the sort. He simply didn't get convicted.
On February 5th, Al Green announced that he would be filing articles of impeachment. Then came Trump's March 4th speech to the Joint Session of Congress and Green would not stop yelling at Trump's lies and made mock use of his cane as a weapon. April 5th, Green said he would file articles of impeachment in 30 days. His deadline is May 5th, Cinco de Mayo. Seems appropriate with Green's background.
But, there is another Representative that beat him to it. On Monday, Representative Shri Thanedar, Democrat, Michigan, filed articles of impeachment against Trump, the day before Trump arrived in Michigan to make remarks at the Selfridge Air National Guard base, followed by a rally at the Macomb Expo Center. The articles of impeachment were not the welcome he was expecting.
Thanedar has filed seven articles of impeachment. The causes are the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, and funding cuts by DOGE without Congressional approval, just to start. Shri also notes the disasterous tariff scheme, Trump's treatment of reporters and attacks on the First Amendment, his alleged bribery and corruption of the justice system, efforts and success in accessing citizens' personal data for corrupt usages, and "tyrannical overreach." Sounds about right.
Rep.Shri Thanedar
Shri Thanedar is from India, and he doesn't look the 70 years old he is. He took office Jan.3rd, 2023. He's been a successful businessman and served first in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Trump knew about Shri filing the articles of impeachment when he gave his rally speech.
From the Roll Call Transcription:
"I say, what a --- this place has gone --- this country has gone crazy. And they did it again, some guy I never heard of. John James, is he a congressman this guy? He said, ladies and gentlemen, I am going to start the impeachment of Donald Trump. What the hell did I do? Here we go again, they want to impeach me. This lunatic --- this lunatic, he was up --- actually I had the television way down and I said to our great first lady, listen, did I just hear I was being impeached again?"
Yes, you did, Donald. Get used to it.
"... And then you have the other one that's always with the cane. He's always impeaching. He raises his cane."
Then he brought up some insults about Bernie Sanders, saying that Bernie was 8 years older than he is. Only Trump is 78 just about to hit 79 and Bernie is 83. We know Donald has a real problem with math. The tariffs make that abundantly clear.
So, Donald railed at Thanedar before complaining about Green, who filed the articles of impeachment in 2017 for Trump's illegal withholding of congressional appropriations to Ukraine.
The actual articles of impeachment are dated April 25th. I like the heading:
"Impeaching Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, for High Crimes and Misdemeanors."
ARTICLE I: Obstruction of justice, violation of due process, and a breach of the duty to faithfully execute laws.
Mayor Eric Adam's case dismissal Firing DOJ attorneys that worked on his Jan.6th case Sending people to El Salvador Kilmar Abrego Garcia Defying Supreme Court to bring Kilmar back to US Violating court orders Disappearances of people without due process Terminated Inspectors General Violated personal privacy of citizens' data
"In all of this, Donald J.Trump as willfully disregarded the federal laws and the Constitution... he thereby betrayed his trust as president, abused the powers of the presidency, acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law..."
Each article of impeachment is preceded with a description of how it is possible to impeach president for doing wrong.
ARTICLE II: Usurpation of the Appropriation Power
Impounding Control Act Dismantling the Dept. of Education Elimination of USAID Created DOGE which illegally impounded agency funds
ARTICLE III: Abuse of Trade Powers and International Aggression
The whole tariff scheme Threatened foreign nations with invasion - annexation of territory - and occupation by military action Canadian threat Military actions in Mexico going after cartels Annexation of Greenland Annexation of Panama Canal Annexation of Gaza Strip - Genocide Embarrassed us before the world
ARTICLE IV: Violation of First Amendment Rights
Law firms attacks and extortion Retaliation against critics and opponents Weaponization of the DOJ Threats against media outlets, former and current office holders, and advocacy organizations Pursuit of meritless litigation Being the conduit for flagrant bribery and extortion AP and the Gulf of America case Threats against Jan.6th Committee members Attempting to void Biden's pardons Suppression of dissent and opposition
ARTICLE V: Creation of Unlawful Office
DOGE Musk control of same No oath of office False claim of special government employee Illegal Impounding of funds Violations of security and privacy Unjust termination of government employees Slight of hand on who was actually running DOGE Perjury by Trump in telling courts that Musk was and was not in charge
ARTICLE VI: Bribery and Corruption
Soliciting and accepting bribes in exchange for official actions Beyond a reasonable doubt profiteered from presidency Pump and dump and rug pull cryptocurrencies Extortion of $940 million in pro bono services Refusal to remove conflicts of interest in his businesses Solicited payments from foreign governments Emoulement Clause violations
ARTICLE VII: Tyranny
Sought by words and actions to become a tyrant, dictator, autocrat Suspending laws at whim Complete disregard of oath Denial of free speech Violations of due process Coercion and threats of violence against Representatives and Senators Violated checks and balances and separation of powers and appropriating them to himself Attempting to commandeer states and their officers and people in violation of sovereignty Violation of 14th Amendment on Birthright Citizenship Voice of plans to violate Constitutional term limits
"Wherefore, Donald J. Trump, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he is unfit to govern a Nation for the people and by the people, has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law, and will remain a threat to the Constitution if allowed to remain in office."
Wow! That was really heartwarming. It's all laid out in one document. Al Green can use it as a cheat sheet.
Many will say that filing articles of impeachment are pipe dreams with the Republicans in charge. But like JB Pritzker said, Republicans must never know a moment's peace. Filing articles of impeachment and having to read them in the House will upset them to no end. It will get news coverage. People will repeat parts of the articles of impeachment. Finally there will be people who realize that we have a tyrant who can be taken down. Sic semper tyrannis.
