In 2025, During the first 100 days of his administration, Donald J. Trump signed an outrageous 137 Executive Orders, # EO 14147 through EO 14283 (

The two most recent orders were Unleashing America's Offshore Critical Minerals and Resources and Strengthening Probationary Periods in the Federal Service.
The Sacramento Poor People’s Campaign, outraged by the draconian executive orders, issued a powerful statement in response. They said they “must be viewed as part of an an anti-Black, anti-BPOC, anti-homeless, anti-migrant, anti-trans, and anti-poor agenda.” Here’s the complete statement:
We stand in solidarity with all marginalized communities, including the unhoused, the poor, BPOC, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ individuals, emphasizing the importance of housing, healthcare, and education as a fundamental human rights.
In 2025, Donald J. Trump signed 137 Executive Orders, # EO 14147 through EO 14283 (

These inhumane Executive Orders and directives must be viewed as part of an anti-Black, anti-BPOC, anti-homeless, anti-migrant, anti-trans, and anti-poor agenda. Sac PPC calls for policies that respect human rights and dignity for all, urging communities to unite in support of marginalized members.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes housing as a fundamental human right, stating that everyone is entitled to a standard of living adequate for their health and well-being, which includes food, clothing, housing, and necessary social services. This statement is a summary of the rights outlined in Article 25(1) of the Declaration, which underscores the importance of adequate living conditions for individuals and families.
The right to adequate housing is also supported by the U.N. Special Rapporteur, at this link:
https://www.ohchr.org/en/special-procedures/sr-housing/human-right-adequate-housing.
We won’t let them divide us!
We reaffirm our core truth: housing, not handcuffs, is the solution to homelessness. Everyone, regardless of race, class, immigration status, gender, or sexuality, deserves a safe place to live. Housing, healthcare, and education are fundamental human rights.
In addition to increasing immigration raids, the Trump administration has talked openly about enacting a nationwide camping ban and rounding up homeless people and immigrants into government-run detention camps. The stakes could not be higher!
There have also been attacks on educational institutions (public schools K-12, HeadStart, colleges, and universities), arts and cultural institutions, our environment, science, Medicare, Medicaid, workers’ rights, unions, news media outlets, and our legal and court system. These are blatant attempts to erase BPOC and other marginalized communities from our nation’s history!
Sac PPC believes these actions dehumanize us, not only by denying people’s basic human rights, but also eroding the very foundations of our communities. We demand policies that respect human rights, protect families, and ensure dignity to both the Housed and Unhoused. We urge all communities to stand in solidarity to protect and uplift all marginalized community members and their families.
Let’s not only demand justice but also work collectively to build a future where human dignity and equal opportunity are guaranteed for all!
