A Course in Miracles, discussion [1]

This week I worked on Lessons 113 to 119.
What that means is that I read and considered the thought the lesson provides. I have known people who superstitiously randomly open the book and assume that will be their lesson. My opinion is that is the not way the lessons are presented nor meant to be done. All higgledy piggledy in no particular order. I’m not saying that won’t work, I am saying that it smells like seek but do not find to me.
The Voice is perfectly clear and patient. It is an inner voice it is not an outer command.
Where does seek but do not find come from?
Today I will accept God’s peace and joy, in glad exchange for all substitutes that I have made for happiness and peace.
But wait — I like my substitutions they are very dear to me. Simple but not easy. That is why it takes a big old Text, and a Manual for Teachers. It says what it means and means what it says. It does take orderly thinking to change your mind.
It never is the idol that you want. But what you think it offers you, you want indeed and have the right to ask for. Nor could it be possible it be denied. Your will to be complete is but God’s Will, and this is given you by being His. God knows not form. He cannot answer you in terms that have no meaning. And your will could not be satisfied with empty forms, made but to fill a gap that is not there. It is not this you want. Creation gives no separate person and no separate thing the power to complete the Son of God. What idol can be called upon to give the Son of God what he already has?
Such is the choice. What loss can be for you in choosing not to value nothingness? This world holds nothing that you really want, but what you choose instead you want indeed! Let it be given you today. It waits but for your choosing it, to take the place of all the things you seek but do not want.
These aren’t the quotes I was thinking about maybe it is the first one from Chapter 30 Beyond all Idols. But maybe they were. It is hard to tell. I lost my book memory using the search function. I thought I was thinking about something sooner in the Text and around Easter talk. And, I didn’t think it was in the lessons at all.
Sometimes I do think A Course in Miracles is truly remedial religion. Yes you can underline something and swear you never saw it before. It seems to be repetitive. When I first read it my main remark was, OH that’s what they were talking about, now it makes sense.
