Inside the Mind of an Artist [1]

Have you ever wondered what goes on inside of an artist's mind when they are doing a new picture? I am an expressionist artist which basically means I don't create from life but rather images from my head. Here are a few paintings and what I was thinking as I made them.
Silvery Moon
Many of my pictures features water. I love the ocean. I am also an astronomy buff and celestial bodies are frequent in my artwork.
Tornado
I lived in Indiana caring for my Mom. I became quite familiar with tornado warnings.
Desert Sunrise
I lived in New Mexico as a child and loved the desert. It isn't the wasteland many think it is.
House of the Rising Sun
I grew up in the 60s and this song by the Animals has always been my favorite.
Reid Ascending
I did this after my brother Reid died. He loved the color pink and I was inspired by the Elton John song Candle in the Wind.
Birth of a Star
I have always been fascinated by outer space.
Lavender Fields
Yes I know lavender doesn't grow in fields however I am an artist and use artistic poetic license to create my pictures.
Blue Waves
I love the ocean. My sound machine which helps me sleep at night is on ocean waves.
Old Wooden Pier
We now come to one of my favorite paintings. It just all came together for me.
