Trump makes wild claim about border crossings [1]

Donald has had a fixation with undocumented immigrants for decades. He said it when he announced his candidacy in 2015 and immediately called Mexicans rapists and murderers. NBC fired him from "The Apprentice" for it, although Trump likes to tell the story he just decided not to do it anymore.

Bright and early this morning, having returned from the Pope's funeral, and apparently got some sleep, somebody handed some border crossing statistic sheet that made him giddy with joy.

The problem is he's either been given wrong information or he's just making it up.

"JUST RELEASED:"

From where? Which source? Are we talking about Mexico or Canada? The statistics for the Southwest Border are down, but they went up in March from February.

Capture and alignment problem, but you get the idea.

"99.9% at the Border."

99.9% of what?

"Best number ever recorded. 3 people got in..."

3 people got in. Give us a time period. Like one hour, one station, one officer handling them. Specifics, please.

"... versus hundreds of thousands in last administration."

Missed "the" in there. "...in the last administration." I told you he was just too thrilled and messing up. Time period and all or one location, please.

"There has never been such a difference before. Congratulations America!"

This is out of the ordinary. He's not congratulating himself, but America. It should be for the Border Patrol, if anyone.

News media are certainly going to rip apart this claim. If they don't, they're not doing their job. How funny it will get is the question.
