DK Quilt Guild: A place for quilters to gather, share ideas, projects, and to make the world a better place, one quilt at a time. Join us and share your thoughts, projects, questions, and tips. Quilters here are at many different levels of skill. Beginners and non-quilters are welcome, too.
We NEED diarists!
Your diary can be elaborate and full of photos, a simple story of your own quilting history or that of someone you love, a discussion of a current project or a technique you're learning, new adventures... You could post quilt retreat-day recipes (things like crockpot meals, so food appears without much attention from you)...
We could do show and tell or open thread, also, but either way, we need diarists to host. It is EASY if you're willing to take the chance. Diary Schedule

This quilt design concept is similar to a diary Pam did a few weeks ago with a bit of a twist. Pam focused on images in the fabric, while in this quilt the fabric itself is the star. Small difference, I know.
This quilt journey started when a friend wanted a couch throw done in William Morris fabrics. I tried a couple of patterns, like the one below.
Regrettably, I thought at first it would work and cut out 4 squares and placed them over these. Didn’t work. The mixing and matching would be tricky and adding plain fabrics didn’t look good.
So I decided to go with a basic design, which is in the title picture above—6” squares with 2” sashing and 2” cornerstones. Obviously there is a little bit of fussy cutting, but not too much. I’d like to do something similar with some of the large flower Fasse fabric I have, although with those I’d do 8” squares.
While this is a very basic quilt design, I know the person will be thrilled with it, seeing all the William Morris fabrics.
What quilts are you working on? Pictures always appreciated.
