Trump thinks maybe Putin doesn’t want the war to end.

No shit, Sherlock.

Trump and Zelenskyy met for about 15 minutes at the funeral of Pope Francis.

x ⚡️ Trump after meeting Zelenskyy: “There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days… Maybe he doesn't want to stop the war, he's just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through "Banking" or "Secondary Sanctions?”

I’ve got to hand it to Zelenskyy. I wouldn’t be able to sit that close to Trump without getting ill.

The contrast is striking.

If you were Starmer, would you trust this promise from Trump?

x The U.S. has privately agreed to offer security guarantees for British and EU troops deployed to Ukraine as part of the “coalition of the willing,” according to The Telegraph. www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/202...

Russia loses 1,110 soldiers, eight tanks and 70 artillery systems.

A Russian soldier examines an apartment where Ukrainians used to live and says “it’s fucking war.”

x A Russian occupier films a video in a 'liberated' from life Ukrainian apartment in which a family lived not so long ago. "There's still some pickled products. It's f*cking war," he says This war was brought by you. You,soldiers of the Russian army, who came to kill in a foreign country.

Here’s a familiar story: Wounded Russians sent to crawl or limp into battle near Pokrovsk; they don’t come back; their families want to know what happened to them and make a video appeal to Putin.

x 1/ Wounded Russian soldiers are being ordered to crawl into battle if they cannot walk. "You’re still meat, no one gives a shit about you," they have been told by their commander, according to relatives. The men are now missing, and their relatives want Vladimir Putin to help. ⬇️

6/ The assaults on Uspenivka took a toll of dead and wounded, but the commanders refused to allow the wounded to get medical care. Instead, they were sent back out on combat missions despite having sustained serious injuries. 7/ According to the relatives, the men were given some Ketorolac pain relief medication as the only treatment for their injuries and were told to "live with it". 8/ "You’ll get the pain relief — and then you’ll crawl. You’re still meat, no one gives a shit about you — that’s what their commander said, and he sent them on a combat mission towards Uspenivka." 9/ Not surprisingly, the men did not return. "The guys just went somewhere – to be meat, and no one knows what happened to them and how," says a relative. The relatives complain that despite them only being declared missing, the men's pay was cut off immediately.

Russia says it has completely recaptured its territory in Kursk. Ukraine says no it hasn’t.

x ⚡️ Update: Ukraine says fighting in Kursk Oblast ongoing, disputes Russian claims. Russia’s claims about its full recapture of Kursk Oblast "do not correspond to reality,” the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces said on April 26.

Five years ago you could say this was likely an accident. But today, it was likely deliberate.

x Russian military helicopter violates Polish airspace on 25 April Poland’s Operational Command reported on X that a Russian helicopter entered its airspace in what appears to be a test of defense readiness

Military officials confirmed that Polish armed forces radar systems and civilian systems operated by the Polish Air Navigation Agency tracked the Russian aircraft throughout the incident. The Polish air defense forces and resources reportedly “remained in constant combat readiness to ensure the security of Polish airspace.” The Polish military characterized the incursion as deliberate, saying that the nature of the incident suggests that “Russia is testing the readiness of our air defense systems.”

This is most commonly a Third World problem where there is high population density and unsanitary conditions.

I think there is a translation problem here. Should be: “We can talked about how we are completely fucked.”

Ukraine’s latest recruitment drive isn’t working well.

x In February, Ukraine's military launched a campaign with supercharged financial benefits to boost recruitment rates among young adult men. Two months later, however, fewer than 500 have enlisted under the program. meduza.io/en/feature/2...
