Trump: Meet Your Daddy Xi [1]

Just watched the very low energy press op as the sad-faced Trump was boarding Marine One to go to Pope Francis's funeral, at which he deflected questions about his stupid lie about meeting with Xi to negotiate on tariffs. He instead bizarrely described the funeral as a meet and greet on trade with lots of countries being there. Xi won't be there.
Xi's China publicly called Trump's claims that China is talking with him about his stupid tariffs as "fake news". That must burn. Ouch.
China has figured out how to burst the bully bubble of Trump. No more Mister Nice Chinese Guy. (Why do white folks regularly dismiss and mistake Asian formality for weakness? It's an exploitable vulnerability. Ask the Japanese bond market.) Trump continues to insult China at every turn, his Fox News and MAGA minions continue to insult the Chinese people, the Chinese nation, slandering China, impugning their national honor, lying about them, treating them as just another second rate "shithole nation" beneath Trump's time. China watches.
Trump has no idea that the once great ancient Chinese Empire and civilization has endured insult, subjugation, disregard and disdain by many other once and now collapsed "dominant" empires. (This includes Putin's USSR.) China doesn't forget, it outlasts, it survives. They've had thousands of years of history to inform their present and future. Trump is a historical nothing.
Trump is a small-time, penny ante, short-fingered loud mouthed buffoon. His paper tiger act worked on 77 million Americans who bought the broke used car and are now shocked when that rusting CyberDumpster drove itself (with them locked inside) into a burning ditch. (75 million Americans did see through him.)
China is no hero. Please don't turn Xi into a saint, he's not, he's definitely not. China remains an economic adversary. But perhaps a globe full of cowed nations just needed to see what a spine looked like when facing a deranged deluded politician. Just like Columbia needed to humiliate itself and demonstrate what supine weakness and moral cowardice looked like before Harvard engaged its spine.
Trump has single-handedly destroyed the last vestiges of Pax Americana in real time. We lived through America at its zenith, that's now an artifact of a disappearing present. And China smiles. They may offer Trump a face-saving off ramp, but not without tortuous humiliation while extracting ruinous concessions. Trump has gone too far, and Xi isn't afraid of the consequences because he's not subject to polls or an electorate as China's President for Life.
Yep, it's time, Donald, you sad-faced orange clown with a long red tie. Your Daddy Xi's coming home, and Daddy's not pleased.
