The MAGA Failing Agenda [1]

The power of America, and what makes America great, comes from its economic and military might. Its leadership comes from its political, morality, integrity and educational principles. America’s current occupier of the seat of power is a failed businessman of below average educational achievement and questionable moral standards who avoided military service and never swore an oath to defend the Constitution before ascending to the highest office in the land. The MAGA agenda calls for the destruction of the administrative state. This destruction also includes the destruction of American leadership worldwide. You cannot be great if you are hiding behind walls; you cannot be great if you are the bully; you cannot be great if you are unwilling to shoulder the burdens of leadership and stand on principles and integrity.

Immigration:

I remember the ideals of American citizenship (Civics 101 for the uninitiated) taught to me in school. The lessons of immigrants willing to stand up for the defense of their adopted Nation, immigrants willing to lay down their lives for freedom, willing to endure the trials and tribulations of the immigration system; yet under Trump citizenship is a commodity to be sold. Defense of the Nation that Trump refused to participate in and then denigrated those who did. Idealism, a belief in the principles of freedom, equality and inclusion are being deleted from the definition of America. The fear of the browning of America, in my mind, is the real reason for the sealing of the southern border. What is evident to me is that the White Supremacist movement was in fear of Hispanics becoming the largest minority; based on the 2003 Census, that is now fact. There is little mention of European immigration and in fact Trump has offered a gold card to immigration selling American citizenship for five million. MAGA continues to elevate fears of major criminal activity and physical assault as the reason to close the borders despite the fact that Immigrant criminal activities only account for 5% of the crime that occurs in the US. MAGA continues to vociferously prosecute that 5% but quietly promotes arming the 95% of the American citizenry that commits the majority of crime in this country. Another question that comes to mind is why MAGA champions those who proclaim sovereign citizenship (those who deny US citizenship) while promoting deporting immigrants seeking US citizenship.

Economy:

Trump has no understanding of how an economy works. In an economy you must share the wealth. This is a foreign concept to Trump. The Trump mentality is I win you lose. This is his belief since his earliest actions, which you saw when he took all the inheritance left by his father. In that win/lose philosophy there is no room for magnanimity or charity. Evidence of this is the closing of the Trump Charity whose only gifts were portraits of himself to his golf courses. In how Trump relates to others the win/lose mentality does not allow him to be part of an alliance where others are equals, so out with traditional alliances and all negotiations must be one on one where Trump is in the elevated position.

A successful economy is based on numbers, those numbers are all the people participating that economy, the more, the greater the economy. Trade is the basis of an economy, money for goods and services, so each time money is exchanged, each time the cash register rings the stronger the economy gets. I believe these statements reinforce my previous statement that an economy is based on sharing the wealth. This may be a simplistic statement about an economy, but I am not an economist who gets paid to provide formulas on market manipulation I am just providing a viewpoint. The other viewpoint I have is that automation, robotics and Artificial intelligence do not participate in the economy, they do not pay taxes, and they do not purchase merchandise. These factors only increase the concentration of monies at the top levels of industry but never increase the fortunes of the worker class. These industrial efficiencies may actually have a detrimental effect on economies.

Who benefits from the economic demise of America? I would say Russia. The self-proclaimed king of debt, Trump has increased the debt this nation owes by trillions. Trump blew through almost a half a billion dollars of inheritance, then went hat in hand to the only lenders who would grant him funds, the Russians (this was admitted to by his children in public statements). Part of Trumps upbringing associates him with mobsters and is tied to his beliefs and thinking. Loyalty to the mob boss is fundamental in mob mentality. Putin has been declared as a mobster worldwide. Trump owes Putin. Putin is fundamentally the Capo de tuti Capo and Trump’s loyalty is to the Russian mobster. Russia is rated the 11th largest economy, California by itself is rated as the worlds 5th largest economy. A weakened America economically, also affects the military and political standing. The ability to negotiate politically is ceded to another player, let's say Saudi Arabia and all it costed the crowned prince, was creating a golf league and investing in Trump’s son-in-law, and staying at Trump properties. This upends the political power of the traditional negotiators and alliances. It is a wedge to split the alliances that oppose Putin.

Have you ever stopped going to a store because they treated you badly, accused you of something you didn’t do, or not live up to an advertised store policy? I have. Trump has done that to the US. Trump has instituted tariffs that only effect consumers in the US. He is also breaking the supply chains that provide us with consumer goods and creating barriers to for the US to sell goods abroad. If the farmer that sells their goods in the international market is now denied that market, how long will it be before his clients find another supplier and those supply chains become cemented and that US farmers now have a surplus that they can’t sell in internal US markets. Anyone remember how Trump had to fund farmers in his first term? How can they survive economically? US automakers, if they can’t sell vehicles abroad due to counter tariffs or unpopularity due to Trump trade policies, how can they survive economically? Will they go the way of Tesla?

Crypto currencies were made to hide money from the government, it’s unaccountable. Crypto currencies do not participate in an economy, you can’t get a business loan from a crypto currency, you can’t get interest from crypto currency, your fortunes are tied to the amount of funds that are hidden in those accounts and can be lost as funds are removed. The example let’s say a ransom is paid to a crypto account for a hacker to restore access to a computer system or a hostage release your crypto account goes up and as soon as those funds are to be transferred to hide their ultimate destination your fortunes go down.

Military:

Who benefits from the military demise of America? Again, I have to say Russia. I have to return to Trump’s loyalty to the Russian prompting up his fortunes as to why Trump’s loyalty lie with Putin. Putin never wanted to confront an effective and efficient military on the battlefield. Putin needed to isolate, and sow distrust among the militaries and nations facing him. The tools Putin has employed is Trump, Trump’s ignorance and greed, politization of every issue, social media propaganda, and distrust in the traditional media. The Art of war says a great leader inspires trust, unity and a personal connection. How can members of the military who have raised their hands in their oath to the Constitution find a personal connection to a leader who has called them losers and chumps, who calls those military members who are POWs not heroes, who cannot honor the fallen, preferring to golf. Installing in its top leadership an inebriated ineffective, inadequate and unqualified yes man.

Governing:

The question of governing has always been the biggest challenge to Republicans. Republicans since the Regan era have been more performative than legislative. They bring to the American public problems without solutions. If you are worried about having mixed groups in a bathroom, make every bathroom private, only one person at a time. Republican and MAGA in particular, only don’t offer that solution, they only continue to complain about the issue. The opportunity to present outrage and bluster chasing political power is the hallmark of Republican and MAGA. Trump since taking power has been obsessed with destroying the institutions of governing and providing services to the voter.

Every United States citizen must realize, you hired those in congressional, senatorial and executive positions. Your vote hired these people. Your vote can fire them. I have a hard time with why people vote against their best interest. Rick Scott in Florida was elected Senator and has issued plans to cut social security and Medicare, saying both are fraught with fraud in a state where a large part of his constituents are included in these programs. Does anyone remember that Scott was head of HCA that had to pay 840 million in fines and penalties for Medicare fraud. Trump had so many issues and those who energetically endorsed Trump and those who couldn’t bring themselves to vote for a woman brought Trump back to power to destroy the US economy, due process, and government services. Will we be able to recover is the question yet to be answered.
