My two cents: We either hang together or surely... [1]

It’s that simple.
In case you forget, Project 2025 is in full swing. They are trying to dismantle the progress we made in the 20th century. They are focused, united and gettin’ ‘er done.
Meanwhile, some of us here fight with each other about this, that or the other. This week, it’s about being mean to religious people/silencing my freedom from your terrible mythology. Take your pick. It doesn’t matter.
Here’s what I think is going on:
Because of what is going on in our country, people are on edge even more than usual. People on edge seek control, and feeling righteous indignation is a simulacrum of feeling in control. And, boy, is it a powerful drug.
It’s not real. It’s an illusion. It doesn’t really matter all that much if Schumer did the right thing or not. Nor does it matter if you “destroy” someone online. The reality of the situation is as plain as it is distressing:
We got run out Washington and the Republicans and Trump are dismantling our way of life. And there is not much we can do about it.
A democracy requires that citizens understand the truth and their rights. That is why Trump is especially attacking institutions that deal in truth and rights—media, universities, and law firms. If they can be silenced, citizens can be kept ignorant and easily deceived.
Again, there isn’t much we can do about it. Well, for now, at least. Other than, of course, stay unified and organize.
Please, keep that in mind. In context, that is all that matters.
