Trump reads about Zelenskyy from the WSJ, rants and gets history wrong [1]

Volodymyr Zelenskyy was on the front page the Wall Street Journal today, and that has Trump rankled. He says the front page, so Trump's got a physical copy.
"Zelenskyy...is boasting on the front page of the Wall Street Journal that, 'Ukraine will not legally recognize the occupation of Crimea. There's nothing to talk about here.'"
There is nothing to talk about here. Russia illegally took over Crimea in 2014 and the rest of the world does not recognize Crimea as being part of Russia, but still part of Ukraine. Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian people have made it quite clear that Crimea belongs to Ukraine.
"This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia..."
TFB. Being Putin's puppet here gains you no credibility. Rubio already said the whole thing was already off. Why are you asking for negotiations now? Or are you just spinning your wheels because you love spinning wheels?
Putin promised an Easter ceasefire, but it didn't happen. Putin is nowhere near being trustworthy on anything.
"... Crimea was lost years ago..." I'm going to skip right over the Obama slur and point out that Crimea was never lost. It was stolen.
"Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian territory..."
You are! How can you say that and at the same time say that Crimea was lost years ago? Doesn't add up.
"... why didn't they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?"
Russia snuck in forces in unmarked uniforms and took it over surreptitiously. Probably didn't help that a lot of the population of Crimea has Russian as their first language. Just because of that does not make it Russian territory as Russia likes to claim.
There was a Soviet era submarine base at Balaklava, but that was shut down long ago. This is Putin's Russian Federation, not the Soviet Union. Trump has no concept of history, so it's easy for him to get screwed up on timelines. We're talking at least 1994 when Ukraine gave up all the nuclear weapons stored in Ukraine in return for guarantees of their sovereignty and borders.
So, Trump is totally off base, pun intended, to say that Crimea "housed... major Russian submarine bases."
"It's inflammatory statements like Zelenskyy's that make it so difficult to settle this War."
You're still trying to cover up the fact that you couldn't stop the war 24 hours after you got elected as you promised. Then you promised you would have it solved in 24 hours after you took office. Then your minions said you would have it solved within your first hundred days, and that time limit is just about up.
Zelenskyy has never said anything other than Crimea was part of Ukraine, so it's not an inflammatory statement. It's a matter of fact.
"I have nothing to do with Russia..."
That is a ridiculous statement. Everyone knows that you are tool, an asset, a traitor devoted to Putin and his Russia.
"... Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week, who are dying for no reason whatsoever."
The Russians are the ones that are dying for no reason whatsoever. Ukrainians are defending their country from a force that wants the entire country, not just the border areas and portions Russia has illegally annexed.
"We are very close to a Deal..."
You just can't get the word "deal" out of your head. You're still thinking about this as a transaction that Ukraine has to give up land and Crimea as a price for ending the war. Ukraine will never submit to that.
"... no cards to play..."
If that's true, it's because you took them away. You've done everything Putin wants you to do. Stop hamstringing Ukraine and give them all the ammunition and weapons that Congress appropriated. That alone is cause to call you a traitor.
"...this Complete and Total MESS, that would never have started if I were President!"
Everything bad that ever happened under Biden, is something that Joe is still in being blamed for. If you had been president, you would have told Putin to do a blitzkrieg and you would just turn your head, and not look.
Trump still lives in the dream world where he thinks that everyone listens to him and thinks he's smart. We listen to him because we have to, but the second part never happens.
The war continues, with or without our help. Thank God the Europeans have a clue and are helping out even more than before. They know they are next. With the isolationist United States of America Trump has created, we are more in danger than ever before simply because Trump thinks the fight is only over there.
There was a time when the world depended on us to save them, ensconced in the George M. Cohan song "Over There," from 1917.
"Over there, over there,
Send the word, send the word over there
That the Yanks are coming, the Yanks are coming,
We'll be over, we're coming over,
And we won't come back, till it's over, over there."
The world used to think the world of us. So did we.
