Trump attacks Perkins Coie, Judge Beryl Howell and Marc Elias [1]

Trump has gotten huge law firms to bow down to him with threats of DEI practices investigations, revocation of security clearances and bans from federal buildings. But not Perkins Coie.
The firm was at the top of the list as they worked with the DNC and Hillary Clinton's campaign.
Marc Elias, the head of the political law practice at Perkins Coie at the time, commissioned Fusion GPS to do opposition research on Trump. They hired former MI6 intelligence officer Chrisopher Steele, and he created the infamous Steele Dossier of 35 memos which showed Trump in a very bad light, including one of Trump allegedly being caught in a honey-pot with prostitutes in the Moscow Ritz-Carlton Hotel that was on tape.
So, you can see why Trump has it in especially bad for Perkins Coie. They fought back in court and won a temporary restraining order against Trump's edict in his executive order. U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell was assigned the case.
Now, Trump is threatening to sue Perkins Coie without specifying on what basis. Is he threatening to have the DOJ go after them for DEI, or is he doing this on a personal basis? I'm making the mistake of not seeing the royal "we" here. "I'm suing" is his administration suing. But, there is no lawsuit against Perkins Coie. Just his executive order and their suit to neuter his executive order. There must be a new plan that would be unveiled by Pam Bondi. That's my guess.
Being a morning rant, it's hard to tell.
"I'm suing Perkins Coie for their egregious and unlawful acts, in particular the conduct of a specific member of the firm..."
He doesn't give the name, but we all know it's Marc Elias.
Why he is now going after Judge Howell when she granted the TRO last month is unknown. Maybe he's just picking up where he left off after making so many large firms cave and going after the ones who defied him. That means Perkins Coie, WilmerHale and Covington & Burling.
"... only to find out that the judge assigned to this case is Beryl Howell..."
Um, she's had the case for a month. You're just finding out about it now? You even tried to get her thrown off the case, and when that didn't work, you tried to get her to recuse herself. That didn't work either.
"... an Obama appointment, and a highly biased and unfair disaster."
Of course, being an Obama appointment is a criminal offense.
"She ruled against me in the past, in a shocking display of sick judicial temperament..."
That was when she said that the FBI could disclose some records in Trump's classified documents case.
"Her ruling was so pathologically bad that it became the 'talk of the town.'"
More likely you're Takko the Clown. And you shouldn't be using the word pathological, because you're a pathological liar.
"I could have a 100% perfect case and she would angrily rule against me."
Perfect. Just like all those perfect phone calls? That perfect phone call to Brad Raffensperger that showed you had violated Georgia's laws? Like that perfect call to Zelensky that got you impeached? The only perfect case you had was the one against you with the classified documents. Had you not delayed it you would be in jail.
"It's called Trump Derangement Syndrome, and she's got a bad case of it."
No, you've got the bad case of trying to go against Perkins Coie. Try anything new, and they will wipe the floor with you. You haven't got a case.
"To put it nicely, Beryl Howell is an unmitigated train wreck."
Well, that wasn't putting it nicely at all. The train wreck is your whole administration.
"NO JUSTICE!!!"
That's what half of the United States has been saying about the criminal cases against you for 4 years. You escaped justice. Except for defamation and felony business mismanagement. The ones that would put you in jail, never happened. That's where no justice is.
There will have to be a follow-up either by Trump or Pam Bondi to let us know what Trump is thinking here. Right now it makes no sense. He's just lashing out in the darkness.
In the meantime, Trump is exceedingly upset. That's good. The law firms who caved made a big mistake. Trump will keep coming back for more. $100 million of pro bono work is only the start.
You can't give in to Trump the bully. There may be a temporary cost, as Governor Mills in Maine found out about standing up to Trump's executive order banning trans from girl's sports, but good and right will always win in the end.
If it doesn't, we will forever live in Trump World. That simply can't be how this ends.
