Progressives: Can Religious and Non Religious get along? [1]

There is a big fight going on right now at DK (surprise, surprise). I guess that is to be expected when the progressive party supports a big tent. Families fight, I get it. I do hope that fighting can lead to acceptance and love, but sometimes the rift is too big.

But I do have one question:

One of the diaries mentioned a bus...

And it got me to thinking: Imagine there are two buses in you city driving around. One says, “Believe in God? You are not alone.” And the other says, “ Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.”

Now the question: Do you think

A) Both buses are Ok. I’m gonna let people find each other.

B) One bus is offensive (it can be either one) and I’m going to complain and get it gone.

C) One bus is offensive (it can be either one), but I’m not going to do anything, but I will be pleased if others make it go away.

In truth B and C are the same answer. Even if you don’t act, but are happy with stopping one bus and not the other, well you support B.

I guess I’m just asking, is it ok to not believe in God, and also to let other people know you don’t believe in God and to let others know it’s ok to be an atheist? Is that alone an affront to religious people?

I’m just trying to see where the line is? And why?

Thanks. Love to all.
