I refuse to fight my fellow liberals.
Denise’s article had a lot of great points, but seemed a bit inflammatory to me. Others may disagree.
Rieux’s article had a lot of great points, but seemed a bit inflammatory to me. Others may disagree.
The reason I love our party is because we include everyone and fight for everyone. The diverse opinions should be a strength, not a weakness. Every parochial sub-section of our movement should fight for and defend the others.
Reading through the comments on both of these articles I see so many examples of liberal on liberal fighting. It’s disappointing. We as humans have a finite amount of energy. And yet, so many of us are using that energy to fight each other. We are fighting our allies.
I would hope that the believers among us would fight for the atheists, and for their right to believe or not believe as they so choose.
I would hope that the atheists among us would support our friends who are religious, even if we don’t agree with them.
I’m not going to tell you which group I am. I don’t think it matters, frankly. But I want you to know, I’m thankful the other group is here and has a voice. And I intend to listen to it.
I refuse to fight my fellow liberals. And I submit that you should, too.
