Russian stuff blowing up: Massive Russian ammo dump goes bavovna [1]

['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.']

Another massive Russian ammunition depot goes bavovna. This one is in Kirzhach, which is about 530 km from Ukraine and only about 90 km northeast of central Moscow. Kirzhach is also the place where Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin died when his MiG-15 crashed near the town in 1968.

Russia claims the detonation was the result of a safety violation. Yep, I’ll bet it was really unsafe when that fireball went up.

Ammo Dump Jesus has blessed this holy bavovna.

x Explosions hit the 51st GRAU arsenal in Russia's Vladimir region, destroying 100,000 tons of ammunition. Glide bombs, artillery shells, rockets for multiple launch systems, and air defense components were lost. This depot was one of the largest in Russia. Burning nicely.

x Ammunition from the 51th GRAU arsenal is still flying after detonation — projectiles are reportedly landing far beyond the blast zone. Craters are found in Kirzhach, some 8-10km from the arsenal itself.

Don’t you just love springtime? The birds are singing; the flowers are blooming; tons of ammo are exploding.

And Russians from 60 km away could marvel at the explosive power of their army’s ammo.

A warehouse is also on fire in St. Petersburg.

x A warehouse in Saint Petersburg also suddenly caught fire, covering 500 square meters.

Residents are filming a large column of smoke from various locations.

A Ukrainian drone sifts through wreckage hunting down a Russian.

The napping Russian looks giddy at the prospect of going on a meat assault with a dude on crutches.

x An elite Russian military unit is now rushing full steam ahead to capture Ukrainian positions. And the crutches? They're just for covering their tracks — nothing else.

Russia destroyed this city, but they are sprucing the place up with … posters.

Huh? Who’s supposed to see these posters?

x A Russian soldier films the streets of Bakhmut in Donetsk region ruined and occupied by Russia. Russians filled it with posters for May 9th. This is the "Russian world" - celebrating the memory of a past victory while waging another war.

This sort of thing sounds appalling. Why does Russia continue doing this, you may wonder.

Because sometimes it works. If Russia can advance half a kilometer, Russia doesn’t give a shit that the price is losing several hundred soldiers. And there is apparently no shortage of motorcycles.

x In a chaotic assault near Pokrovsk, Russia sent 150 soldiers on motorcycles and IFVs into Ukrainian defenses, only to suffer massive losses Ukraine destroyed 96 motorcycles and 21 infantry fighting vehicles, decimating the attack

A Ukrainian APC survives a hit from a Russian drone.

x An enemy FPV drone hit an "Oncilla" armored personnel carrier carrying Ukrainian soldiers from the “Predator” brigade. All the warriors survived, suffering only concussions, and are already back to fulfilling combat missions.

This Russian was proud of his orange hot rod and its EW.

It burned nicely.

x A short story of Russian equipment at the front: first, Russians boast about setting up electronic warfare systems and heading out on a mission. And the next day, they’re already filming how their "just-arrived" vehicle is beautifully burning.

Zelenskyy has proposed a truce on attacking civilians. Putin is said to be considering it.

Meanwhile:

x Today, Russia dropped two guided aerial bombs on Zaporizhzhia. A fire broke out. A woman was ki##ed. At least 23 people were injured – including 4 children. A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition. A 4-year-old was also hospitalized.

Russia sent 30 Shahed drones to attack Odesa.

And Russia attacked Kharkiv once again.

And a hospital in Kherson.

Well, that plus raging incompetence, indifference to the lives of their troops and probably a healthy amount of vodka.

x 1/ Disastrous Russian attempts to mount armoured assaults are being blamed on commanders relying too much on electronic warfare equipment to defeat drones while ignoring the need to ensure that it is updated with a current tactical threat library. ⬇️

2/ Lamenting the destruction of dozens of armoured vehicles in failed assaults such as the one shown above, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the 'Zhivov Z' Telegram channel puts the blame on commanders who ignore or overlook the need to maintain EW systems mounted on vehicles: 3/ "Attacking in columns on sections of the front where the enemy has not switched off drone launch points and artillery is, in my opinion, criminal negligence. You can sacrifice as much as you want to Ares. He will not appreciate it. 4/ "It's funny, but they sent infantry fighting vehicles and armoured personnel carriers into the attack, which even with additional protection are not suitable for even simple movement near the front line.

I guess Russia wanted to kill this person twice.

x 🚨Kherson, an update: A Russian FPV drone hit a hearse leaving the hospital to bury a victim of another Russian FPV drone. The doors of the ER are destroyed. 4 injured. Human safari at its lowest.

Makes you wonder what happened just prior to this. The “spider monkey” remark is a reference to the “Talladega Nights” movie.

WARNING: Video shows Ukrainian soldier killing a Russian.

Russia’s losses of armored vehicles has been fairly consistent over the course of the war, but destruction of unarmored vehicles has shot way up.

2/5 Several conclusions can be drawn from this: 1) Russia's offensive strategy is heavily dependent on massed unsupported infantry assaults without regards for the resulting high losses. 3/5 This is more of a short-term strategy and not one that a country with the resources to produce modern weapons at a sustainable rate would pursue; i.e., it is easier to replace a dead soldier than a destroyed APC. 2) Massed unsupported infantry assaults are currently working for the Russian military. It follows that the best way to improve this tactic is to reduce the time the infantry is exposed to fire in the open by providing them with an expendable form of rapid transport. 3) A disproportionate amount of AFU resources like drones and ammunition are expended destroying relatively cheap and easily replaceable modes of transport.

When I first saw this I thought it must be an Onion article. But, no, they’re serious. And April Fool’s Day was three weeks ago.

If this is true, Francis is now my favorite pope, beating out Stephen VI, who had his predecessor who died seven months earlier exhumed and put on trial in the famous Cadaver Synod of 897.

RSBU sources who spoke on condition of anonymity tell me the Vatican is also considering sending long-range cruise missiles and some of its supply of 155 mm artillery ammunition.

x ⚡️ Pope Francis secretly used his own money to buy Mavic drones for Ukraine’s 93rd Brigade. The donation was kept confidential until now. united24media.com/latest-news/...

In late 2023, Pope Francis secretly funded drones for Ukraine’s 93rd Brigade 'Kholodnyi Yar.' This support was revealed by journalist Oleksandr Zinchenko on Facebook, following the Pope’s death on April 21. Zinchenko said that in December 2023, the brigade launched a public fundraising campaign to acquire drones. However, donations were coming in slowly, and there were growing concerns among volunteers that the equipment would not be procured in time for the holiday period. Then a Ukrainian journalist received a call from a trusted representative of Pope Francis, who conveyed the Pope’s willingness to assist. “This was done with the Pope’s knowledge and blessing, under the condition of confidentiality until a certain time. It was his personal money - not from the Vatican,” Zinchenko emphasized. Initially, two drones were purchased with the help of public donations, and later, Pope Francis personally funded a third one. The volunteers considered naming it in his honor but decided not to, fearing it might reveal his identity.

Send her on a meat assault. I want to see the video where she surrenders to a Ukrainian drone.

x Meanwhile in Russia: head of RT Margarita Simonyan delivered one of her most bizarre interviews to date. Simonyan talked about her husband Tigran Keosayan and claimed she was pondering going to war in the event he doesn't recover.

Russia is back to pissing away 1,000-plus soldiers a day.

Yes, but is there anyone or any country that Medvedev hasn’t threatened? That, plus Medvedev is always drunk.

x ⚡️ Czech hockey legend Dominik Hašek says former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev threatened to kill him. Hašek sent formal letters to the IOC and IIHF and plans to publish them in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the protests continue in Georgia.

It would look even cooler with a pink drone cage around it.

Hopefully a happy homecoming is in the future.

x A little son says goodbye to his father, who is leaving to defend Ukraine. It's impossible to watch this without tears...💙💛
