On Left and Right: If you have two hours to spare, something well worth your time [1]

Just recently, LazerPig, an openly gay, frequently intoxicated (or so he claims) Scottish YouTuber who normally producers videos on military history and providing critical analysis on various topics thereof—such as the B-17 being a shit bomber, the T-14 Armata being a colossal joke, and the A-10 being overrated—has released a video entitled “Shut Up About Cultural Marxism”.
The video provides a short history of how the term came about and was created by, basically, racist clods as a way of getting their ideas into the mainstream, but then does a deep dive into how the same technique has been used to grow right wing movements like MAGA. While the video spends most of the time criticizing the right, he doesn't spare the left, pointing out the same kind of sloppy thinking which allows those ideas to become mainstream in the right also happens on, using the side most people on this site will be on, our side which prevents being able to effectively deal with the problems caused by the extreme right. He gives the example of how the Democrats became lazy starting in the 1990s, assuming the working class would always vote for them because voting for Republicans would absolutely hurt them, and switched to focusing on the educated middle class because they had more money that could be donated. The rise of Trumpism is a direct result of that abandonment
As much as it pains me to admit I've been as guilty of some of those things, it should make you think. So if you’ve got some time, give it a listen. You might not agree with everything in it...I certainly don't...but if it pops a bubble or two you’ve been safely and unknowingly ensconced in, it will be worth it.
