Given today’s three top stories were the death of Pope Francis, the likelihood of SecDef Hegseth’s departure from any role involving keeping secret things that don’t belong in a Signal groupchat, and the tale of Homeland “Security” chief Kristi Noem’s purse, I chose Door #3 for tonight’s Top Comments!

As has been widely reported, Secretary Dogkiller’s purse was stolen while she ate at a DC restaurant. The purse was alleged to have contained:

Driver’s license — did she drive home without it? Does she drive? Unspecified medication — Botox? Meth? Ozempic? Set of apartment keys — Hers? Coreys? Is there Corey Competition?! Passport — I’m sorry, but who carries their passport to DINNER? DHS badge — Aaawkward, will she need a DOGE bro to badge her into work now? Makeup bag — I thought MAGA woman makeup required purse-sized containment on its own Blank checks and ~$3,000 cash — Umm…

I don’t know about you, but that looks like a go-bag to me. Who the hell carries $3K in cash AND blank checks. I mean, I use about six a year and four of those are because my longterm care insurance company hasn’t entered the 21st century yet for payment. If I have that much cash and a passport, I’m fleeing the country. And if I worked for the Trump regime, I’d be prepared to bug out on a moment’s notice, given the speed with which you can become persona non grata in his world (hrmm, I wonder what Hegseth’s carrying in his man-purse?).

This got me to wondering though… what’s in YOUR purse (or backpack, or briefcase, or whatever you use to carry things around in when a pocket isn’t enough). In the interest of science (or simple curiosity which I think is ALSO science), here’s what’s in my current purse:

- My wallet. It contains my driver’s license, one credit card, AAA card, Costco card, library card and my FSA card for medical purchases. Oh, and about $20 in mixed bills so I can tip in cash. - Car and house keys, if I don’t have something with pockets on - Lip balm and a small tube of hand lotion - a power brick for my phone (if I’m going anywhere that I have to carry enough stuff that it doesn’t fit in my pockets, I figure I need a power source) - Airpods - Metal waterproof pill carriers for tylenol, naproxen and acetominophen because I’m prepared :) - At least one half-used roll of dog poo bags, whether or not I have the dog with me - One protein bar, because as a Type 2 diabetic you never know when you’ll need lowcarb food that isn’t available

I can say with 100% confidence I have never once had $3000 in cash AND my passport in any bag I have ever had. I also keep better tabs on it when I have anything even remotely valuable, but maybe to Ice Barbie, $3000 is pocket change.

Go peruse tonight’s Tops, then hop down to the comments and share what’s in YOUR containment vessel!!
