The NPR story is that Hegseth shared the Yemen strike information in a Signal chat on his phone with his wife and brother and personal lawyer after being updated by a Pentagon Official.
The existence of a second Signal chat came from The New York Times. New York Times X account.
Apparently Trump is angry enough to want to replace Hegseth, to which we would say good riddance. NPR says the White House "has begun the process" of replacing the Secretary of Defense.
NPR got the story from an anonymous U.S. official.
First we had Laura Loomer getting national security personnel fired for "disloyalty" to Trump. Last week four senior advisers to Hegseth left after there was talk about going after leakers.
NPR has reached out to the White House for comment. Trump has already taken part in the Easter Egg Roll. I don't expect him to put anything on Truth Social about this, but I'll keep looking.
Trump will be furious about the leak on this.
The background you might need is in this story by DK user Dan K.
Also by DK staff writer Emily Singer.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett's take on the second Signal report on Bluesky.
The New York Times also had a story yesterday about a draft executive order that would eliminate African operations and shut down bureaus working on democracy, human rights and refugees.
No sooner does the story come out, but Karoline Leavitt via RapidResponse47 tries to deny it.
NPR continues to update the story with Leavitt's post and comment from Hegseth at the Easter Egg Roll that the rumor is false and put out by disgruntled employees.
A bigger update by DK member News Corpse with embedded videos (which I can't do) is here.
The three that left together last week put out their own statement:
The fourth person to leave, John Ullyot, did an op-ed in Politico yesterday.
At the Easter Egg Roll, Hegseth said while pointing at newsmen, "This group right here --- full of hoaxsters that peddle anonymous sources from leakers with axes to grind, and then you pull it all together as if it's some news story."
