I presume I am not the only one working on multiple projects. I have projects that focus on my different interests, projects for different moods, and projects for different difficulties.
As a side note, the crewel embroidery above, that will be finished soon I hope, is from Melbury Hill, in England, who I do not recommend. The picture shown online was very nice but the Appleton threads did not match what the picture shown. To achieve that crewel piece I had to purchase over half the threads on my own. Also all the instructions for this were on a piece of paper slightly larger than a recipe card. However I liked the design and continue it when I am in the mood to do crewel embroidery.
Below is a crazy quilt square I'm working on. I'd like to learn more about crazy quilting. I'll be taking a class on it in a couple of months. Other than what I've already done, it will take some thinking to decide the next sections. The triangle in the middle will be a butterfly. Not sure how I'm going to do the seams yet beyond the one I’ve started.
The little piece below I used to teach a beginner class in embroidery. I'm going to finish it and hang it in the master bathroom. The open space below the daisies with have a ribbon bow. Not sure whether dark blue or white.
This last embroidery below, I'm still working on designing. The original was a scissors case by Mary Corbett. I rearranged the flowers and enlarged them by 150%. However, I'm not sure that I don't want to add a full face Bachelor Button in the center above the two side view flowers. The is very detailed, single strand embroidery that takes definite focus.
I don't just do embroidery, I also do knitting, quilting and writing. Right now, for knitting, I am knitting a color work sweater for my sweetie husband. Below are one sleeve and bottom edge band. I’m working up to where I attach the arm and then do the yoke. I've never done a sweater bottom up before.
And I'm working on three quilts. Two are block of the months that you've seen parts of. Below is block #6 of nine from the first one. I’m about ½ finished on block 7.
I've also started another quilt for a friend. a throw quilt. I've just started it. It’s a simple quilt where the fabric is the star, in this case, William Morris fabric.
You might wonder how I can work on so many projects. What project I work on mostly depends on what mood I’m in. If I’m in the mood for something more complicated, I’d likely work on the Bachelor Buttons. If I feel more like sewing, then a quilt, etc.
I also do writing. I’ve finished 7 books. I am finally near the end of the fourth Mrs. O’Leary book series. The earlier ones were shorter. This one has become a monster near to 100,000 words. I like it though.
So, as usual, What Are You Working On?
