Trump screws Boeing out of Potentially $13 Billion [1]

Chinese airlines and leasing companies have ordered around 130 Boeing 737 Max jets, but the Chinese government has ordered the companies to refuse delivery of the airplanes. From the Bangkok Post

The US plane manufacturer Boeing has begun flying 737 Max jets that were refused by Chinese airline customers back to the United States, as the trade war between the world’s two biggest economies escalates.

Depending on the configuration of the aircraft, a Boeing 737 Max has a price tag of between $99.7 million and $121.6 million. Taking a lower estimate of just $100 million per plane, that is going to cost Boeing around $13 BILLION dollars. Boeing has had its share of problems lately. I really don’t think it needs Trumps trade war to cause even more problems. Last year, 2024, Boeing lost almost $12 Billion dollars and has not had a profit in 6 years according to Google:

Boeing registered annual losses in the last six consecutive years. In 2024, the company produced net losses of 11.83 billion U.S. dollars.
