Pope Francis hits a Home Run [1]

Pope Francis recently denied Vice President J.D. Vance an audience, but instead released a letter in part to both Vance and Catholics across the World. Vance and the Trump administration had used an ancient term, ordo amoris, which means “order of love” to justify their fascistic treatment of immigrants. A summary of the letter goes like this:
“I exhort all the faithful of the Catholic Church, and all the men and women of good will, not to give in to narratives that discriminate against and cause unnecessary suffering to our migrant and refugee brothers and sisters” . . . “Christian love is not a concentric expansion of interests that little by little extends to other persons and groups . . . The true ordo amoris that must be promoted is that which we discover by meditating constantly on the parable of the ‘Good Samaritan,’ that is, by meditating on the love that builds a fraternity open to all, without exception” . . .
A Home Run
The God of Hatred and Cruelty, worshiped by the Christian Right.
I myself am an avowed agnostic, but Pope Francis hit a home run on this one.
The right wing and Trump are successful pandering to some Christians because the latter have all ready abandoned Christianity as it was once taught and was too focused on the New Testament Jesus, a different God-figure than in the Old Testament.
One that emphasized “commie” sentiments of anti-war, anti hate, and anti-greed, sharing and love thy neighbor.
Trump “Christianity” is one turned to cruelty and hate mongering.
