We live in unprecedented times.

Faced with an unstable, dangerously erratic, and intellectually vacant presidential administration, extraordinary measures are now necessary. That’s why we propose the Babysitting the Excesses of the Trump Administration Act—or simply, the BETA Act. The BETA Act would temporarily suspend certain outdated or easily abused laws during the tenure of any Trump or Vance administration—laws now being weaponized to carry out an un-American, reckless agenda. This is not normal.

Never before in American history have we been forced to monitor and contain a commander-in-chief as if they were an impulsive child in need of adult supervision. But that’s what this moment demands. Trump, a boy-king raised by crooks, has proven time and again that he’s a threat not just to democratic norms—but to national security itself. His admiration for adversaries and contempt for allies make him not just unfit, but dangerous. The BETA Act is a historic step for a historic crisis. It’s not about partisanship—it’s about protecting the country from its most immediate internal threat: a presidency unmoored from truth, reason, and basic human decency.

Strike a balance of hard honesty, ridicule, and useful action. With bare knuckles.

Have this at the ready as we devolve further into chaos and abandonment of the rule of law. Eventually, a resistance (out of a desire for self preservation) might flutter to life in Congress, even from non-Trump-cult R's, as we all accompany the mad king as he takes us further and further through the looking glass and deeper into the bottom of the Porta-Potty.

BTW, that's today's scratch and sniff for America's current place in the world. Go lift the lid of a construction site portable toilet, take a good look and breathe it in. That's us now. Hope you're not reading this before dining. Sorry.

Extra Bonus? This is exactly what these guys can't stand. A president confident in his mental acuity and competence doesn't constantly brag about passing a cognitive "test" given to those suspected of having a stroke. Or constantly self-promote and surround himself with sycophants. That's NOT how a confident person acts. We all know he's a poseur extraordinaire - especially him. Qu'est-ce que c'est? Le grand poseur?? Oui oui.

"Will a few of our "esteemed" Republican colleagues join us now to stop the Trump Trainwreck with the BETA Act? What more does it take, guys?"
