How was protesting in Indiana? (A Mostly Photo Account) [1]

There has been an ongoing protest every weekend at the corner of Indianapolis Blvd (*Rte 41) and Ridge Road every weekend. I went yesterday, Brought a friend. Oh. The cool thing is that these people asked that we bring a donation of canned food. At the end of the protest, the canned goods table was sagging in the middle.
Good people on 3 sides of the street,
Mostly, I took pictures of signs. Before you look at them, I told the sign owners that I might photo diary their signs and post them publicly. so I would understand if they would prefer not to pose with their sign like they caught a prize fish.
I loved the caterpillar sign, but 9 times out of 10, people stood behind their signs and not next to them. I was good with that. We have some clever signs here. Some with actual fonts.
Everyone we met was nice, and I met a lady passing out postcards to write to our congressional people. She seemed to like that, when offering me 3, I asked if I could have 20. She smiled and said that she had already done more than 500. I am clearly a piker.
I informed the genocide sign holder of my experience caddying for old men with numbers on their arms, back in the 1970’s. Many of the old men said that it seemed like the Great Generational Forgetting had already begun. Even then. I do not think they were wrong; caddying for some of those men, those tattoos were constantly in my face. I loved them because they were such kind, gentle men. Being the only girl caddy on the premises, they would tell me stories, warn me that this terrible was thing only sleeping, and would reawaken if we were not careful...
Fascism isn’t dead, merely sleeping underground for a while. I learned a lot from those men. But I digress, as usual…….
More signs:
My general report is that everyone on our side was peaceful, law abiding, and VERY aware of what standing on the sidewalk might mean. The supportive honks outnumbered the middle fingers by about 15:1.
There were half a dozen of the opposition we met on our way to the demonstration spot. One of them stood really close to me and screamed at me. I informed him that his spittle had totally converted me, now, sir, you are violating my personal space and my friend has taped this on her phone, so how about you take a step back.
This seemed to prompt the counter protesters, all 6 of them, loud, obnoxious, and possibly drunk on something, to cross over to the peaceful side of the street and agitate.
Standing in roadway will get a person in trouble, and this rump guy was nearly dancing with rage when everyone pretended he wasn’t there, incandescent in his rage, I think. It’s amazing what ignoring someone will do to their tantrum. They get up like a small child and go try their act somewhere else. Sorry guy no takers in this crowd,
Shortly thereafter, 9 or 10 squads showed up, and told the Tiny Opposition Army they had to go stand on the other side of the street, and not in it, see ya, pal.
It certainly is.
I talked to some really nice people, and I think I have found something to do every Saturday. We are growing in numbers, join us if you can.
Thanks for reading my clumsy attempt at photodiary. There aren’t but a few hundred of us; I can’t show next Saturday because of Honey’s Memorial Party, but I do plan to return the following week. Please come with me. (Hence the video) come With Me Now.
Again, thanks for reading.
This sign said it had been out here for 3 weeks already, nicetameetcha. Good person.
This person stands behind their sign.
It certainly does not.
Lots of these signs were there
I thought this sign important enough to get both sides
