Are we there yet?
A video title caught my eye “don’t get tracked” and I didn’t even have to look to know they were talking about the USA. Just a few years ago I would have wondered, which country is doing this now? Today, I no longer wonder, the US has become indistinguishable from any of the countries where suppression is the norm.
We have underground networks for women for abortion pills and contraceptives
States that have laws against using highways to get to abortions
Masked enforcement grabbing people off the streets
Traps to kidnap legal immigrants and ship them off
History papers, sites, buildings being cleansed
US citizens being warned to cleanses their social media of anti trump posts
US citizens being detained, searched and questioned at points of entry
Tourists being detained and jailed over flimsy or non-existent claims.
Women being jailed and prosecuted for miscarriages
Children being harassed because they “look trans” whatever that means
Cops planting evidence on people (ok that’s not new but it led to here also)
Elected officials openly defying court orders
Schools being monitored for descent
Law firms being threatened unless they agree to outrageous conditions
10K being offered to tell on others
Government institutions being used to track dissent voices
Town halls with police to tase those who dare question
People being dragged out of town halls by unknown persons
Planned registration for pregnant women
Books being banned
Words being banned
Voting being restricted (more than in the past)
