Have you ever been alone with midnight
Not the midnight hour, but the midnight condition
Alone, with your darkest emotions
Alone, with your own reflection
Tell me the story of that fight
The one you raged with your own might
Where you fought against your own mind
Striving to get back to humankind
Have you ever been alone at midnight
Grasping at a fleeing string of light
Alone, in the presence of darkness
Alone, without any sort of egress
Tell me the story of that search
The one where surrounded by shadows
Thinking you’d never see again tomorrow
Searching for an exit window
Have you ever been alone with midnight
Realized, there was only one way out
That you needed to give up in order to win
That the only way out, was going within
Have you?
