Is the Tariff catastrophe Trumps Steiner Attack? [1]

In the last stages of WWII, while American and Russian forces were closing in on Berlin, Hitler cowered in his bunker, striving desperately to stave off the inevitable. He ordered SS General Felix Steiner to launch an attack on Russian forces, and Steiner, an experienced combat commander, assessed the situation, realized it was a mission with no chance of success, and refused the order. Many accounts have said that when Hitler heard about this, it was the last straw— he then and there made his plans for the cowardly suicide that rid the world of perhaps the most evil leader of all time.
Today, as our current president tries his best to wrest that crown from Hitler, serious cracks are appearing in his once formidable coalition of sycophants. My fervent hope if that a significant Republican legislator looksa in the mirror tomorrow morning and decides that he or she would like to attempt to scrub some of the mildew and rot from their legacy. Does any Republican have an ounce of courage and true patriotism? Who will be the 21st century Steiner?
