VOX Article Claims Silicon Valley Tech Bros Are Getting Burned By Trump's Actions. [1]

If you can believe Vox, some Silicon Valley tech bros are feeling burned by their support for Donald Trump during the last election, or I guess you could call it “buyer’s remorse.” President Biden just treated Silicon Valley sooooo badly, and Trump was going to create this — ahem — “Golden Age” of economic growth for the US. Turns out that the tech bros ignored Trump’s love of tariffs and his “America First” agenda. And it appears that unlike Elon Musk, the other tech bros do not want scientific funding to be gutted.
While Eric Levitz does present all of the tech bros bitching — and bitching is a good work for how they fuckin’ carry on about Joe Biden and everyone else not white and wealthy — with an level even handedness, Levitz does let it slip in the article that the tech bros are a bunch of reactionary turds.
What’s more, Joe Biden chilled mergers through vigorous antitrust enforcement, proposed new regulations on AI development, and suggested taxing unrealized capital gains. All this was antithetical to many tech billionaires’ material interests. And this financial injury was compounded by cultural insults. In the tech right’s view, the “woke” left seemed to disdain success in general and successful white males in particular. And social justice ideology didn’t just irritate the Silicon Valley superrich online; it increasingly fomented insubordination within their workplaces.

Like the Wall Street movers and shakers, tech bros want us to publicly kiss their asses as they pass by. It’s not enough they have more money than God. We plebeians do not know our place.
Trump was going to deliver the tech bros from all their misery.
Trump has delivered for the tech bros with ripping up business regulations, which they love. However, Trump’s tariffs are a bit of problem for the tech bros.
Oops.
And the financial geniuses of Silicon Valley are just now realizing that Trump’s tariffs are going to stop America’s economic growth. And the article goes on with plenty of examples of the economic destruction Trump tariffs are causing. The latest being that the manufacturing sector in the US is experiencing a decline in orders because tariffs have increased the price of overseas inputs. Yeah, we still don’t make everything in America no matter how hard Trump wishes it to be so.
And I think someone explained to the tech bros how the bond market works too. A demented lunatic at the top of the government can actually shake investor confidence in the US as a safe harbor for buying bonds. This makes long term interests rise and economic growth to slow.
And if all that wasn’t bad enough, Trump and Musk’s Grand Chainsaw Adventure is not approved of by the rest of the tech bros, at least when it comes to funding science and medical research.
Yet the Trump administration has sought to choke off funding to these sources of innovation. Since taking office, it has canceled or frozen billions of dollars in federal science funding and choked off further funds to top research universities, such as Harvard. Economists widely believe this general austerity will slow technological progress and economic growth. Research has estimated that every dollar invested in scientific research and development yields $5 in economic gains.
According to this article, the other tech bros realize that innovation depends upon government and private funding. When you threaten both, American science grinds to a halt, unless you are a genius like Elon Musk. The same man who has stolen the ideas of those who worked for him and claimed it for his own.
But these reactionaries are just like the idiots who signed onto the Reagan Revolution. Government was and still is the enemy to Reagan lovers. And none of those morons who bought into that premise never realized that people would take it to it’s logical conclusion: government had to be destroyed. The worldy wise men argued that no one would ever go that far or be that extreme.
Once you start to rip up parts of the 21st and 20th Centuries, it’s only a hop, skip, and a jump to going back further in time. And with government destroyed, we might as well be living in the Dark Ages, which is where many of the billionaires really want to take us. Still, we won’t have those uppity workers who are insubordinate anymore!
