Sen Van Hollen, Press Conference, Just Back from El Salvador on His Meeting with Abrego García [1]

A quick diary re: Sen Van Hollen’s press conference which just ended. He was at Dulles Airport having just come in from El Salvador. I watched it live and learned a whole lot more about exactly what happened while he was in El Salvador and about his meeting with Kilmar Abrego García.

You can speed through a big chunk of the video until you see Van Hollen arrive.

It’s definitely worth watching (or just listen to it while you do other things — not much to actually see). You’ll learn about the shenanigans engaged in by Bukele to make Van Hollen and Abrego García look ridiculous, and the interesting details of how they moved Abrego García to another prison.

I loved Van Hollen’s emphasis on how this is important not just because of a wrongly imprisoned man but because of how it endangers all of us.
