Will We Rise Up & Speak As One People, In Time? [1]

WARNING: I am NOT a writer! Just a regular (old) American. And I don't know how to use "tags". I Apologize.
Throughout history, when great societies have gone down in flames, there has been a turning point...beyond which there's no turning back. I remember (back when they still taught World History, Gov't & Social Studies in H.S.) thinking, "How come they didn't stop those people?!" I didn't understand how they could let it happen. I find I"m wondering that now -- why is it that we're allowing men with evil intentions to get elected & then destroy us!? We have the advantage of knowing HISTORY & yet, what's happened in the past is now happening here (only the details are different) ...& it seems we either don't care, or don't see it for what it is!? There are many millions of us. "We The People" far outnumber them! And WE are the ones that will suffer, as they use & abuse their power. That much is clear!
Do we want to go thru the suffering & horrors roaring down on us like a freight train?! Do we think it will only hurt "the other guys", but not us? Maybe we think a hero will swoop in & save us, like in a comic book.
Or, are we so arrogant to think it can never happen here, even while it's happening right in front of us!?
Maybe we're just too dam* lazy to save our Country, our Rights, our democracy... indeed our very lives & our children's future? UNLESS you are 1 of too many billionaires in the U.S., you have EVERYTHING TO LOSE!
And 1 day, future students in other nations... (not here - they're right now ENDING the free education for all, that made us a great nation)...will read about the once-great USA & how it DESTROYED ITSELF - destroyed by 1 greedy, stupid, phony little man & his power-hungry political Party -- while the people did nothing to stop it!!🫣
They will marvel at the fact that a man with no clue how Gov't worked & convicted felon from his 1st term, got elected a 2nd time - a Criminal who followed NO laws! Actually, the election was BOUGHT FOR HIM with hundreds of millions of $$$$ by the guy who became his partner in crime... as together, they totally destroyed what was perhaps the greatest democracy, in a large & thriving Country that destroyed itself!! 1 person. 1 Party. That's all it took.
That, & the millions of people who did nothing to save their Country, their own lives. What a sad ending!
..And in a classroom somewhere, there will be a young girl, wondering why those people didn't do anything to stop them from destroying their Country?!!
This Sat, April 19th, YOU have a chance to get out there with other Americans who care enough to PEACEFULLY PROTEST against what is being done to OUR County, OUR lives, OUR future! It's just a few hours out of your weekend, but IT MATTERS! Join us! Protest what your Gov't is doing ~ there's plenty to object to! 🪧Protest while you still have the Right to do so. Soon, you may not be able to do so, if Trump has HIS way! And he seems to be getting his way (or doing it anyway), on everything else. THIS IS THE TIME TO TAKE A STAND!! It's never been more important to show up, speak up, or let the numbers speak for themselves. Last time, about 5 million people all over the Country came out & protested peacefully, yet the Corporate-owned news media didn't even cover it. We need to show our strength ~ it's in our numbers & if enough of us do it, we can't continue to be ignored! Our representatives in gov't would be stupid to ignore such large numbers of voters, their constituents! They need to see our courage to find their own! ONLY THEN do we have any hope at all of being heard. If "We The People" can't be bothered to give up a few hours of our weekend to PROTEST what this Gov't is doing, then maybe we don't want, or deserve a democracy anymore. ( I hope that isn't true!) Big & small, protests are everywhere -- find out where there's 1 near you & get out there! Stand up & be counted among the many good Americans who care & who love this Country enough to SHOW UP!! Make a sign, or don't ~ just come & defend our Rights, our democracy, our way of life & our future. ONLY IF WE SPEAK UP, will our politicians have grounds to stand on & find THEIR voice!
The only power we really have is in our sheer numbers... let's overwhelm them with millions of us out there saying, "This is OUR Country & we want it back! We won't go quietly into a fascist tyranny! We will use our Rights to fight back for what is rightfully OURS!"
It's Freedom & democracy....or an Authoritarian Tyrant & Tyranny. Which do you choose??
"HANDS OFF OUR _________!" Choose what matters to you & fill in the blank. (There's plenty to choose from!) Show up & be counted, or be forever silenced & explain that to your children someday.
JUST KEEP IT PEACEFUL.
NO VIOLENCE!
