An infant in Michigan came down with measles, having been in the following places while contagious:
4-4 from 6-8:30pm Tractor Supply Company 5241 W. Grand River Ave Lansing MI
4-5 1:30-4:30 pm Farmers’ market inside the Meridian Mall 1982 Grand River Ave. Okemos
2:30-6:30 pm Aldi 5165 Marsh Road Okemos
4-6 10:30 -2 pm Towar Hart Baptist Church 615 Tower Ave. East Lansing. The child was in the infant room during the service. [O.M.G.]
5:30-9 pm Toscana Restaurant 3170 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing
4-7 5:30-7:30 pm MSU Community Music School(infant was in the bathroom) 4930 Hagedorn Rd
6:30-10pm Emergency Room University of Michigan Health Sparrow 1215 E. Michigan Ave. Lansing
She had gotten her first MMR just before traveling out of state, then returned with the disease. Her symptoms are mild.Lansing State Journal Thus demonstrating that a shot takes some time to establish immunity.
Cases are over 700, in 25 states.
It isn't just measles. Whooping cough cases are up and deaths are occurring. Mumps is making a comeback. Michigan has had at least 11 cases this year. But this outbreak is getting through to at least some parents who had been hesitant.

Oropouche, an insect-borne virus found in Latin America and Caribbean countries, may be more widespread than previously thought. While it is usually mild, causing fevers, headache and muscle aches, the recent outbreak starting in 2023 has included more severe complications in pregnant women, and at least 2 deaths among 20,000 cases.
Five more Iowa counties are positive for CWD, bringing the total to 29. Of 5,493 deer tested this season, 135 were positive. (2.5%)
Covid has been found to increase the risk of poor kidney outcomes in children.
