Secretary Scott Bessent says that the President of Argentina and MAGA are Communists [1]

This is an incredibly bad mistake at trying to be cool, and winding up being very stupid.
President Javier Melei is under investigation for fraud and malfeasance over a cryptocurrency he promoted called $LIBRA. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent had a chat with him to figure out how to do the same thing in America, but much bigger.
RapidResponse47, Trump's little helpers who should be called RabidResponse47, saw Scott's X post and thought it was so good they reposted it.
Scott apparently, like Trump and all his toesuckers, does not know history or terminology.
The words in question are "fellow travelers." I went, wait, is it possible…
My memory wasn't wrong. The term started to be used early in the Bolshevik revolution, popularized by Leon Trotsky, and became a term for people sympathetic to the Soviet Union and communism.
Especially in the 1950's, it meant someone who was sympathetic to communism, but wasn't a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA.
There is no attribution to who said "Melei and MAGA are fellow travelers," but if it wasn't Bessent, it was somebody like him.
Then, it is all out in the open with plain language that could have been from Vladimir Lenin's mouth:
"At the heart of both movements is the belief that power belongs to the people --- not the bureaucrats."
I'm just completely flabbergasted. This is the Communist line, with hook and sinker.
The next paragraph didn't really help as it describes exactly what Lenin said about democracy. That our representative democracy gave the illusion of democracy while maintaining the "dictatorship of the bourgeois."
"By embracing democracy over bureaucracy, both movements aim to unleash economic growth."
Lenin said our system was a "spectacular and meaningless duel(s) between two bourgeois parties," which were led by "astute millionaires." Little did he know that that would turn into billionaires instead.
So, Bessent's slip of the tongue is telling. This has become a democracy for the rich only. Bernie an AOC's "Fighting Oligarchy" Tour isn't a mistake.
MAGA has become an unwitting tool for Russia. So have too many members of Congress. MAGA needs to come clean with their real loyalties to Putin. It's on display every day. Melei is in the political game to enrich himself just like Putin has.
So, yes, "Melei and MAGA are fellow travelers." Just not in the way they were thinking.
