Please Don't Attack My Tesla [1]

I own a Tesla. It was built in 2013, and we bought it used (no money went to Elon) several years ago before we all knew Elon was such a fascist jerk. We got it because at the time it was probably the best electric vehicle made, and it fit with our ethos of reducing our carbon footprint. Our home is 100% solar powered, including charging our cars for local driving, and we have eliminated all natural gas usage and had them seal off and remove the meter. My career was in R&D of solar power systems (retired now). We are not the bad guys.
But, presently, I am hesitant to drive our car in public because I fear someone will damage it to “get Elon,” in some way. I submit that damaging my vehicle only hurts me — I’m the one who has to pay to get it fixed. Elon doesn’t have anything to do with it anymore. I am as disgusted with him and his fascism as anyone. If anything, I think when we drive this car we are “getting Elon” because it came with unlimited free supercharging, so every time we charge up at a Supercharger it is costing him money.
I understand and share the anger and disgust people have against Elon, but please don’t let that lead you to hurting your fellow citizens who, I suspect, would more often than not agree with your feelings. Buyers of electric vehicles (especially early adopters) tend to be progressive and not MAGA (I’m not sure why anyone would buy a Cyber-Truck, but that’s another issue...).
